Hey everyone,

Brandnew here, been watching you all for about 2 years now and decided to "join the fray" as some would say it.

Go easy on me.

Questions for the informed,

Some one please give me the low down on the A2 brake offered by KKF? My Bushmaster is brake less so do I need one?? And are the KKF A2's loud as other brakes out there??

Tell me about Olympic SS109 from Kieslers Online and Sportsman Guide??? I bought some but the Nato head stamp is nowhere on the casing?? What gives, is this Mil-Spec??

Thanks all

Escapee

Can't help you with the KKF brake but I have Wilsons on both my AR's and I'm extremely happy with them. Even though they advertise a three week turnaround I received both of mine (separate occassions) back in under ten days.
By the way I have looked at Kurts brakes and think they look great. I am thinking about trying one on my next AR.
Check out the Wilsons @ www.wilsoncombat.com

Good luck and welcome!

If the ss109 doesn't have the nato headstamp, it's not mil-spec surplus ammo. This does not mean it's not mil-spec, only that it was not manufactured under military (of any nato member) contract.

First: Welcome to the madhou----uh, board! And second: Give a thought to a Smith Compensator-it is really effective, but be prepared for a muzzle flash (with a 14.5 or 16-inch barrel) that will really draw stares at the range!

Ok, it's a Bushmaster standard 20incher HB, would like the GI look but am wondering if I should just leave it alone??? Have not fired it yet so I do not know the sound difference compared to the same rifle with a brake...Man an A2 Birdcage would be cool..

So I have three 30/45 thermolds and non lock into magwell without locking and releasing charging bolt yet my USGI's lock perfectly..

Anyone else notice this with thermolds??

I love carrots

Thanks

Ah, well...for a 20-incher, I'd say go with Kurt's Kustom, then. Can't say about the mags, though, because I only used USGI. Here's a hint: go shopping for mags at Army/Navy stores; a lot of the people there will have no clue what the mags are worth, and will let you have 'em cheap. I bought 12 of 'em for $5 apiece when I first got my Bushmaster.

and don't try to mount a cheapo Bushnell scope on an SKS...the recoil breaks all the little lenses inside loose...turned a scope into a baby rattle.

Oh yeah, welcome.

muzzle brake? for what?  Jeezus christ we are shooting .223!  Is your shoulder REALLY so tender?  Forget a muzzle break!  This isn't a .50 bmg!

(edited cause I'm drunk and can't type....)

You guys are funny, like I said been watching for 2 years or more. Never signed up. I see the carrots comments all the time and thought I would throw it in.

You got a newbie here boys so be gentle.

Anyways glad to be apart of AR15.com, this should be fun.
