It is third world but when I was there in the 80's it looked a lot better than that. It was a relatively clean place for the tropics if you don't count the trenches along the streets where the sewage flowed. It was always a challenge not to stumble into them in the dark when "drunk as a sailor in port". I do miss the fun I had in the PI |

I'm going to be back in the PI next week. We got the tail end of the storm here in Cambodia, with some severe flooding further down the Mekong. That storm isn't through killing people, yet. |

For those of you guys on Luzon: I'll be landing at CRK before noon on the 9th, if anyone wants to get together. My GF's family that were in Manila are now safe at her cousin's near Cabanatuan, thank God. Hopefully, they'll avoid further trouble with this next storm, and I have someplace to stay once I get there!
