INDIANAPOLIS –– The FBI offered a $5,000 reward Friday for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for a series of home and vehicle thefts in which an agent's weapons were stolen.

Investigators said the thieves took an FBI SWAT uniform, two sets of body armor and three guns, including two machine gun-style rifles.

Police said the thieves hit at least 12 homes early Thursday west of Interstate 65 between 71st and 86th streets on Indianapolis' northwest side.

The guns –– an H&K MP5/10A3 10 mm rifle, a Rock River Arms LAR15 rifle and a Springfield 1911A1 .45-caliber handgun –– are unique, which will likely make it difficult for anyone to sell them without being detected.

Investigators said at least one set of body armor would be easily distinguishable because "FBI" is displayed on the front and back.

The FBI asked anyone with information to call them at 317-639-3301

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The FBI and metro police are investigating a rash of burglaries that have stunned residents on the city's far northwest side.

Metro police said some time between three and five o'clock in the morning Thursday, burglars broke into up to a dozen homes, garages and cars in the area of 86th Street and Interstate 465.

Authorities said an FBI agent was among the targets. The crooks got away with machine guns, a rifle and handguns, FBI vests and a Harley Davidson among other valuables from various places.

Chris Kleinops lives a couple of doors down from the agent.

"I believe they broke into the car, used the remote control to open the garage door and commenced with the burglary from there," said Kleinops. "I tell you what, we're not used to it up here, but maybe it's a sign of the times."

Police said the burglars were quick and quiet.

Metro police said the suspects also got away with an honorary Marion County Sheriff's Department badge.

"Machine Gun Style" -> Semiauto is my bet!

We will see I guess...  Why were the MGs if they were NFA not better secured?  You know they would ask any of us that question.

You have got to have some pair of balls to break in to an agents car or home, see government property emblazened with 'FBI' on it, and STILL CONTINUE taking his shit.

If I were a thief, and I broke in to a LEO/Agents house and KNEW it...

I would be a fucking GHOST... right there. GONE.

H&K MP5/10A3 10 mm rifle single,2 shot burst,and full auto

The MP5 is also available in other calibers. In 1994,
the FBI adopted the MP5/10A3 (1992-1999), in 10¥25mm
Auto: Dmg 3d+2 pi+, Range 280/3,100, Wt. 7.8/1.5, RoF
6/13, ST 9†, Rcl 3. The MP5/40A3 (1992-1999), in .40
S&W, was somewhat more popular: Dmg 3d-1 pi+,
Range 190/2,000, Wt. 7.6/1.3, RoF 6/13. Both normally
fired single shots, two-round limited bursts, and fullautomatic

I'll give 6k for any info leading to the recovery
