The Huge Stimulus bill

The Healthcare bill.

Government control of two automakers is pretty damn bad. Soon to be overshadowed by Gov control of healthcare if he has his way.

What is it going to be next? Kind of inevitable that they will try to take more control over drug industry if they get their hands on healthcare. Gov control of food industry?

I agree, but what worries me ever more is the incredible naivete illustrated - that somehow if we play "nice" with the Russians and Iranians, everything will work out dandy.

The Norks have proven over and over again that it is a sucker's game, and the Iranians have obviously payed very close attention to that.

Why wouldn't that work? It always works - just look at history - I mean, come on, every time we've played nice with a hell-bent power-hungry regime, they've seen the error of their ways, apologized, started playing nice with their people, and invited us over for tiddlywinks.

I mean, just look at Iraq, NK, Vietnam, Cambodia, Germany.....oh, wait, nevermind. History is ruining my argument here.

Uh, it was for our defense as well. But, aside from that it is shitty to back out on friends like Poland and teh Czech Republic.
