... and this time Beretta, imho opinion, kicked asses!
ARX160 The rifle has been started to be issued to our Army for final refinement field testing and actually is also "working" in Afghanistan. There are a lot of new features, included the chance to change the barrel in SECONDS and ON FIELD and to change instantly the ejection direction... I wrote a long article for a national distributed gun magazine in Italy, so I am in the deep inside the subject. Ask whatever you want. |

The buttstock looks the same, I know. Was tested also by US personnel, and the comments were unanimously good...

It kinda looks fat to me. Atleast at the hand guard. Not knocking it, looks pretty cool otherwise.

Double action trigger? That sounds simply horrible on a rifle. Is the trigger as bad as it sounds?

Double action trigger? That sounds simply horrible on a rifle. Is the trigger as bad as it sounds? I think the double-action trigger is for the grenade launcher only. Note the distance between the rear of the trigger and where the pistol grip begins. On a double-action gun, there is a larger gap there than on a single-action. |

I like it. It folds, in a way very close to the one of the SIG rifles, and it extend: buttstock is collapsible, 4 positions... |

Had some time with my first SCAR yesterday...
These new rifles are makin me feel old...I mean an SBR AR is just old school, now. |

The barrel seems rather thin. Is that an illusion? Barrel on the real thing is thicker than appears on the pics. Little bit more than the classical M16A1 pencil barrel... |

So the Masada did come out... completely DIFFERENT gas system from Masada. |
|
Did it pass teh drop and harsh stacking test?
j/k Looks like a cool rifle. The most important question is when is the civilian version going to be for sale in the US? |

|
Whats the height over the bore of the iron sights and the optic rail?

Whats the height over the bore of the iron sights and the optic rail? good question. AFAI the design keeps the sights very low on the receiver, EI uses a special version of Aimpoint M2 called "acies" that has lower mount. Next time I will handle the rifle I'll measure it... |

Tell us about the optic. Which one? The rifle is the platform for the "Future Soldier" implementation. But will be delivered with Aimpoint M2 Acies, a version of your M2/M68 sight to be adapted for Beretta 70/90. I saw also a display with ARX160 and Burris XTR135... I don't know if this will be issued. |

Looks like a Storm/SCAR and SIG 556 all had sex together.
i'll buy one |

Quoted:
I would take one................if Beretta would import Never say never... but for the .mil people. I already asked for a semiauto version, but at the moment is not in any plan. The gun can easily shot other calibers, including 7,62 soviet, 6.8 grendel. Just change barrel, lower (because of the magwell), bolt. |
|
I need a few hundred for extended abuse, err... testing, that is.

looks like if you dropped it in the mud you would have to take it to the car wash to get the dirt out of that Kawasaki fender well on the front.. |
|
Piston driven and folding stock....
Mikhail had that figured out long ago. |
|
The magazine well looks kind of deep. Can this rifle use 20 round magazines ? What about polymer magazines, like Magpul PMAGS and the like ?
|
|
Very nice.
Not to change the subject, but what are the gun laws like in Italy? Is it difficult to own an AR? Just curious, I'm not moving there. Yet. |
|
The receiver on that sucker is HUGE!!!! What's up with that!?
|
|
Is this the mythical Beretta RX ?
Are we going to see this stateside with the other X's is it still going to be in multiple calibers like the other X models? |
|
Some guy on facebook has been recommending this for the US military's new assault rifle. I always said, nah, they'll never pick it up.
Surprised the Italian army went with it. |
