funny first two posts - I have seen (Sportsmans Guide, maybe?) a clock that is a safe.
any medicine cabinet will work - recess it into a wall, frame up the mirror, or cover it with a picture. it owuld be pretty easy to obsure a shotgun near a door along a coat rack - just put a trenchcoat over it (hang it kind of like one of those speed rigs for pistols -a little nub to secure the business end, a hook for the stock and voila... watch the old pink panther movies - that guy had blades, chucks and all sorts of things all over the place. try the freezer...a plant stand on a short table (could be hidden under a silk tree on a plate) there are a million ways - just be creative |

under the mattress? saw that once in a movie.
Also took a burglary where someone lost a jennings that was "hidden" under a mattress. haw haw (nelson voice) |

I have to be vague here, but...
I once had my premises being searched for something. Due to inattention of the searcher, I briefly had a moment where I was in possession of the "something", and some duct tape, and was outside my premises. (the opportunity came about because I had an inkling the search would be coming before the searcher did) I duct-taped the "something" to the bottom of the searcher's car. I was able to retrieve it some days later. |

One thing to be careful of is that professional burglars know all the 'common' places. A friend of mine had an ex-con coworker over; he spotted her hide-a-key (on her car), her jewelery case, and her steak knife (she doesn't own a gun) just as if he'd planted them there himself.
Makes me want to carry my hideout gun all the time at home (the one I have 'hidden' in case of break-in). |

I once hid a gun behind a toilet in a restaurant for a family friend named Michael.

I hide stuff at the bottom of the lake near my house.
eta: the lake - it's in my avatar pic. send it over to the boys in ops - they'll be able to tell you where it is in a few seconds. very well known place. |

Normally I hide my gun under my shirt.
But when I cannot have it with me, it's cased in a 6'x6' block of cement, buried 10' deep in the backyard... under the shed. It really makes range day a chore, but it's worth keeping my firearms safe. But really, no clever hiding spots in my home. I could make a few slicks if I wanted to, but it just really is not worth it. If you think you are going to have your premises searched, and you don't want something found just get rid of it. It's the only safe answer. I can tell you from doing searches on a regular basis, the people that do them generally will be better at finding it than you are at hiding it. Especially if they come there, looking for that specific item. |

ive always toyed with the idea of cutting a piece of carpet in a corner that folds back to reveal a box of some sort......
im trying to figure how the carpet could be cut and remove the padding to look untouched..... ill get back to you if i have a solution |

I've found "Items" under the mattress, underwear drawer, attic hatch, kitchen drawers, fridge, trash can, couch cushions, DVD cases, those little cans with screw tops, ass cheeks, etc. How bout, if you don't want someone to find your stash, smoke it or sell it. I think you should sell it. I like buying dope from idiots on the government's dime. |
