Small Plane Crashes in Calif.

BUENA PARK, Calif. (AP) - A single-engine plane crashed a block away from an airport Saturday, killing two people.

Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steven Miller said he did not know how many people were aboard the six-seat plane, which crashed in Buena Park a block from Fullerton Municipal Airport, knocking down power lines.

An hour after the 1 p.m. crash, firefighters were still working to put out the blaze.

The plane came down in a vacant lot surrounded by residential buildings.

Miller said skies were clear and winds were light at the time of the crash.

Buena Park is about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
