Ok, so I go to balance my account online this morning.. I see a "charge" on my account that I know I did not make.

I call "CCBill" and ask them about the charge.

They gave me an AOL email addy and asked if it was mine.... uhh, NO. I don't use AOL at all for anything.

Then I was told the charges were for a website "camhotties".. ummm yeah ok.

I chewed my way up the chain until I got someone that would reverse the charges and put a block on my card.

I then asked them for the IP address which used my information.

It was 68.174.84.57

It seems to belong to Roadrunner.

That is as far as I can get as roadrunner does not want to hear about it... any ideas anyone?

This is the site I've always had good luck with in finding more specific locations of IPs in use:
IP Locator

Looks like that one resolves to Philly.

Check your statement for purchases a few days prior to the bogus charge. Often times they will charge 1.00 or .50 to make sure the card is legit before selling the info.

It happened to me about 5 years ago. Under $50. The CC rep. ,or was it the phone co., initially said I would have had to click on it. I told her BS and got it removed. I blocked all overseas phone calls from my number.

I had a charge by the name of CCBILL clean out my checking account a few months ago along with other fictitious accounts. You need to close your account, or close your debit card number and get a new account or debit card, if the charge came in against your debit card.

Luckily for me the bank reversed all of the disputed charges and got it all fixed for me. They were charging against my debit card so all I had to do was get a new debit card number and get the old one turned off.

No.. Roadrunner is an ISP, the IP addy belongs to them. sorry if I wasn't clear, this has nothing to do with the site here.

Dispute the charge, cc company will immediately refund the money and investigate. One and done.

No reason to lose sleep over it.

OK.. CCBill said they would refund the money, had the bank kill the card, they told me if it does not get refunded to let them know.

All good I guess... I just hate fucking thieves with a passion and i am very careful about who gets access to my card... i won't even let the little prick at the resturant out of my sight with it.

I have had that one for 9 years.. I guess I'll start over again.
