My fiancee just left with her mother to go see it. In case your wondering what the movie about, think Emo teenage vampire love story. It's based off a series of books. My fiancee has been damn near shitting herself for weeks waiting for this movie to come out.

Looks like a flick aimed at teenage chicks.  I don't have a wife/GF/daughter, so none of them will be seeing it.  ;)

Why do vampires keep getting moved from one class of borderline queers to another?

Its main target demographic seems to be young teenage girls, but for some strange reason a high percentage of adult women (especially moms) seemed to have latched onto the books as well.

Had a co-worker explain the plot to me, as well as a neighbor lady hanging out with my wife yesterday evening.  Definately sounds like an emo vampire love story.

Basicly it involves some emo vampire and emo werewolf competing against eachother for the affection of some rather plain and unremarkable girl.

Funny you say that, my fiancee got latched on to the books because of her mom.

It appears to be something totally different. The Ungroundable was about vampires vs. goths. Butters was fucking HILARIOUS!!!

My daughter is "14" today.  We are taking her and 7 of her friends that have read the books.

I had no idea what it was about but I saw a trailer 3 or 4 days ago.
It has "people" (vampires) flying around in mid air and stuff.  I am thinking it will be weird.

But I will see it tonight.

Tell us what you think of the vampires that "sparkle" in the sun.

So it's basically "The Notebook" but with faggy vampires instead of faggy men... got it.

I hate movies like that, all they're good for is convincing women that the perfect love story exists... which is total horseshit.

The fairytale mentality is way too strong in some women.

My wife read all of the books in about 2 weeks.  She's very excited to go see it.  I've gotten myself into trouble a time or two for laughing about parts of the books she told me about.  Apparently, vampires are super sex machines.

My wife will go as soon as she gets off work.  I couldn't get her to put the damn books down when she was reading them.

I'm reading the first one (Twilight) just to see what all the fuss is about.  It's pretty good.  Doesn't exactly ring my chimes, but I can see how girls could get into it.

My neighbor, who read it and thinks it's crazy, said that the girl in the book compares kissing the vampire boy to kissing "cold marble".  I wasn't aware that girls are turned on by cold marble.  Then again, getting nailed by "cold marble" does sound a lot like having sex with a machine I suppose.

Wife might be going with her younger sister and my sister tonight.  I told her to have fun and enjoy what looks to be some "Emo, fag, loser shit" movie, to which she replied, "Everything's emo to you, isn't it?"

Unfortunately, yes.  There is a lot of this emo* crap everywhere you look these days.

Actually, ther's a lot of fighting and action in this series. A lot of kids both male and female at my son's high school are going to see it and have been reading the books. There is something for everybody. I read it because I'm anal retentive when it comes to what I let my son and nephews read. It was actually pretty action packed. THough its mostly the chicks going to see it, my son and his guy friends are going to check out the girls from another school. Oh, and the movie too.

It's an interesting premise as to why they sparkle like that. I just finished the series up and while i can't stand the teeny-bopper romance shit, the technical details on the vampires and werewolves are pretty cool.

SPOILERS AHEAD: Although I imagine most of this crowd could care less

The sparkling in the sun is one of the lures they use to draw humans in. They are very attractive and angelic in the sunlight, their voices are very soothing to humans, and their breath is even attractive to humans. All of these things are designed to draw their prey to them. Their strength and speed is more intended to deal with each other, as they can be very territorial.  Pretty interesting ideas.

My wife and a ton of her friends have read the books.  My wife wasn't this way, but a bunch of the other ladies (25-35 yrs old) actually get really turned on reading the books.

A guy I know had his wife call him at 3:00 a.m. on the way home from an advanced screening the other night telling him to "get ready!!!"    I guess that's not such a bad side-effect.

Saw it last night with a female friend of mine, she bought my ticket for me.

I thought it was a pretty decent movie however the amount of girls in that theater creaming their pants over it was unreal. Every time the guy said something romantic or gave some look about half the theater went "ooohhhh or ahhhh."

My wife went with 3 friends for a midnight showing.

When the last book in the series came out last August, I went into Sam's Club to buy it the day it came out for my wife.  I got into line to purchase only the book and noticed that the person ahead of me in line was also buying only the book.  The sad part is the person ahead of me in line was young teenage girl.  Lucky for me I am comfortable with my masculinity.

Holy fuck my wife has read 3 books in the past 2 days. I asked her what the fuck she was reading, and she was explaining that it was linked to this movie or some such.

I came in last night at about 2am, and first thing she said to me was "don't tell me what time it is". I bet she was tired as fuck this morning at 5am when she woke up for work
