Need to do some complex numbers calculations and I wanna use my new TI-89....

How would I enter (5-i10)(10+i30) / 15+i20

and get 10-i10  for an answer?

I know where the "i" is at but when I tried entering it all in, I got some bizarro answer.

HALP!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't used one since maybe 2000 and a friend is borrowing mine...  But it should be in Mode.  I think you need to set it to Exact.

Heh, no. It's complex numbers (rectangular form) . "i" is an imaginary number (the square root of -1).

Engineering fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

CMU, here in Mt. Pleasant. It's a shitty school, but it's conveniently located (about 4 blocks from my house ).

My wifes 1 semester from finishing her Masters in Counseling and with any luck, she'll get a position at a University like ASU or UNLV and we con move somewhere friggin warm and I get to finish school for free!
