So, yesterday as I was leaving work I got a call from a number that wasn't in my address book on my phone. The call was from an area code I have never heard of, but my phone displayed it as being from Georgia. Reverse phone lookup shows it as a mobile phone from Bainbridge GA, in Decatur county (Southwest Georgia. I live in the middle of GA). Anyone on the board have resources to find out exactly who it is? IM me.
Since I didn't recognize the number, I answered "Go ahead." He knew my nickname. Practically everyone I know calls me by my nickname (even my dad and some professors), but it would rule out someone somehow finding out my phone number and given name. I asked who was calling me, but he wouldn't say. I told him if he didn't tell me who it was in three seconds, I would hang up. After three seconds, I hung up. He called back. Reluctantly, I answered. I wasn't sure if I recognized the voice, so I made room for the possibility of it being a friend fucking with me, since he did know my nickname. Once again I inquired as to who it was. He said "Tony Antoni." A long time ago, when I first got my phone (I think while I had a temporary number), I got a lot of weird calls from this one guy. Tony Antoni sounds like it might have been the name he gave me, but I'm not sure. In any case, it seemed like a bullshit name. He said we went to high-school together (I didn't ask for the name of the high-school, though. I was getting fed up). I told him not to call me again. He said "wait, do you know where I can find some weed?" At that point, I hung up. He called another time. I didn't answer. I got in my car and drove home. When I got home, I saw I had a voicemail. This is where it gets good. They didn't hang up when they thought they did. Guess what? I recorded the voicemail (sans phone number at the beginning) for you guys. Click to listen! A hair under 3 megs, .mp3 format. Basically, he starts by threatening me, wanting me to call him back. After that is when he thinks he's hung up. Whoops His friends and him are trying to figure out places to prank call. They settle on a Chinese Restaraunt (how creative...) One of them pipes up saying they can't get caught, and even if they do it's only a misdemeanor, explaining how safe they are.... Then he says he hopes I call him back. He's taunting me without knowing it. Blah blah blah, finally they hang up, after it seems like they realize it's on speakerphone. I'm extremely tempted to call back tomorrow and explain to him all of his mistakes. I might then explain or play up the severity of the situation, let him know I know where he is, and advise him to retain legal counsel Or worse I'm concealing the phone number. Note 1: GA Code Section 16-11-37: (a) A person commits the offense of a terroristic threat when he or she threatens to commit any crime of violence... |

So are you gonna call them back from a pre-paid cell at odd hours asking stupid questions? And when you get to the last minute say this will teach you to crank call someone with caller ID moron???
Has he ever heard of *67?? Dear Jesus...
I have a lot of pent up aggression, let me call him!!! |
Get a prepaid phone, tell them you are from some .gov agency, not LEO though, and that you are doing a favor for a friend by giving them a warning, then play some of what they said after they thought they hung up.

I'm thinking about calling the number late tomorrow night (hopefully someone has some "resources" that he doesn't think we have and can find out his name) and saying something like this:
"I found your calls last night so dissatisfying last night that I wanted to let you know some of the mistakes that you made. "First off, if you're going to prank call someone, rule number one is to conceal your phone number, so that I can't find out who and where you are. "Second off, you might not want to leave a voicemail. Obviously voicemails are saved, and can be recalled later. Furthermore, they can be recorded and sent to the police, especially if someone has the experience and means to do so. Ask me how I know. "Third off, if you do leave a voicemail, it's a good idea not to make terroristic threats on the answering machine. Terroristic threats are punishable by a prison sentence of 1 to 5 years and/or a fine of up to $1,000 dollars. The law, GA code 16-11-37, states the one who makes the threats cannot be convicted on the one who receives the threats' word alone. Leaving them as an answering machine message is especially bad since you've just created evidence with which you have incriminated yourself. Remember when you said you wouldn't get busted? Do you recall that you also said it would only be a misdemeanor? Well, harassing phone calls, as explained in GA Code 16-11-39.1 is in fact a misdemeanor of which you're guilty. Terroristic threats, however, is a felony as you can tell from the sentence. Both of these would be easily proved in a court of law. "Fourth off, for the reasons listed above, you may want to make sure you check to make sure you've hung up after you're done talking--particularly before you incriminate yourself. You may also want to remember the name Joseph Mulholland, your district attorney. You may be hearing it again. In the mean time, it may be a good idea to retain some legal counsel. "Lastly, a fucking Chinese restaurant? Get some new fucking material. Enjoy your night, sir, and get some sleep." What do you think? After I say that and he presumably flips his shit, maybe I can get his name. I'd love to have it beforehand, though. Let me know if you can find it out for me ETA: I want to keep it legal and I am NOT going to impersonate a police officer or anything like that. |

It was decided long ago (many times now), that you can NOT claim "Epic Thread" in the title of your own thread.
I have to give you a fail on that one. But the recording is pretty good. I say have all the fun you can with thease guys. |

Craigslist Transexual Escort ads..........That's all I'm going to say.

"Hey dude, how many calls did you get today? "OVER 9000!!!!!" "What?! 9000?!?" |
I suppose my return call would be quite lengthy, and he would probably hang up pretty quickly. I'll probably condense it all. I really just want to find out who it was at this point

The first instinct of people is to just quickly hang up the phone when this happens. If you woulda just hit the # key and chose delete message, then she never would've gotten it. Same thing for the prank callers. |
I highly recommend this. This will be the perfect revenge. |

Lame. You fail at epicness. Post on 4chan and craigslist personals, or you get permafail. |
