Go to a gun website and look at the parts pages/catalogs. Winchester, for example, won't sell a [b]hammer[/b] to simple civilians anymore. They won't ship to a non-dealer/gunsmith! This is total BS. How in the hell are we supposed to fix our guns when a hammer, trigger, firing pin, or carrier breaks? We can't.

BTW, does anyone have a Winchester 1894 hammer for sale?

It is a ploy to steer you to a "Factory Authorized" repair or service facility.

Don't want to void that stellar warranty they provide now do you?

Knowing how to work on firearms is bad. unless you happen to be a dealer in their firearms also.

Pretty sure the 'ol warranties were gone on my guns pretty quick. Now I just want one simple damn part.

for the old guns try dixie gunworks
their website is www.dixiegun.com i think
i have one of their catalogs and it has all kinds of parts for "antique" type firearms

The reference is gunpartscorp.com formerly Numrich arms corp. They are one of the largest gun parts dealers around.
