I don't have any suggestion to make, but I would like to read more about this too, as I don't have a good way of keeping my firearms safe.  I would like to hear of a good safe in the $200 range that can be bolted to the floor or something...  Nothing too fancy.

Also, MP906, make sure that you keep one firearm out of the safe, but keep it hidden.  In the event that someone walks off with your entire safe/collection, you will still have one gun to defend yourself with.  If such a thing did occur, I know I'd feel better about being so badly violated.  I live in a shitty APT in a, well, inuhbadnayburhood, and I also recognize your need for a good cost-effective safe.
