My  burning laser from DealExtreme came today.  This fucker is really powerful.  Batteries are not cheap for it either.  $13 for two CR2 Walgreens brand.  Wal Mart was out of CR2 batteries.  Be very careful if you ordered one! They will in fact, burn plastic.  I'm at my g/fs dorm right now, and I burned a spot on her mouse. She wasn't happy.  When I get back to my apartment I will take some pics and post them.  The info sheet that came with it is hilarious too.  It's straight from Hong Kong, so all the warnings and shit are translated into English....poorly.

She won't let me play with it here.  She thinks I will set off the smoke alarms.  Tonight will be fun! I hope I don't shoot my eye out.

Be sure to let us know what mischief you commit with your new laser. I might just have to buy one for myself

if you catch a reflection, you will burn your retina and be permanently blinded.

Use laser safe glasses in the correct frequency blocking range.

Yes, definitely. And catching a reflection could be as easy as some dust floating in the air moving in the path of the laser beam.

The scary thing about these kinds of lasers is that often times you don't know the damage is done until much later...

If it'll burn through a car tire, I'll order a case of them!  Probably better than some silly little 9mm bouncing off of a spinning tire.

Did you get the green or red laser?  And where does one find laser-safe glasses?

There's a green one?!  I'm going to be pissed if I could have gotten the same laser, but in green, for the same price.

My brother used to take mine and mess with people that lived in a house, easily a half a mile away.  He got busted because they could see the beam.  Yours will probably look like a light saber out of Star Wars.  People are going to see it.

Seriously, get some LEP (laser eye protection) if you're going to play with it.
If you're not going to get LEP, then keep it away from anything even vaguely shiny, including your watch, rings, doorknobs...everything.  Don't point it at other people as a joke.  Don't use it on your pets as a joke.  Things that can burn your retina should not be taken lightly.

I ordered one.
I got an email a couple days ago saying it had been shipped.

Did it come via UPS or mail ?
If it's UPS it might be an hour or two before he gets here.

I don't know anything about the glasses or the batteries. I guess this would be a good time to find out ?

EDIT: Must be UPS. I didn't get it in the mail.

It's literally shipped out of a post office in Hong Kong.  It took about two weeks for me after getting the email. It will come USPS.
