I smoke Reds in a box. Been smoking since I was 17 and I'm 27 now. About four packs a week.

I started smoking Newport menthol's at age 15 and switched to cowboy killers until I quit 22 years ago. Best decision I ever made. Back then cigarettes were 55 cents a pack and I smoked two packs a day. I am glad I am not spending $ on them now. I do enjoy a good cigar every couple of days. I see too many folks in their advanced years come to the ER with their O2 tanks and can barely breath from smoking. Smokers, this will be you some day. Last week a woman came to the ER with black soot coming out of her nose and covering her upper lip. She was on O2 driving and lit up in the car. The O2 ignited and burned her badly into her sinus and melting/burning the plastic nasal cannula on her face and neck. Ever see a chest CT of a smoker with emphysema? Not much usable lung in the chest.

As a matter of fact, I'm smoking so much that the haze is drifting to the west coast and screwing with the calibration of humor detectors.

About the same here.  After a really stressful day, or really early day (1-2AM) yard call I will smoke one, other than that, I don't.  Marlboro or American Spirits typically, or skoal.  I have never been addicted, as I take weeks or months off each year with no ill effects.  

I am addicted to coffee however.

To lose the ability to get enough oxygen from normal breathing.  What a terrible thing to do to yourself because you're too damned STUPID AND WEAK to overpower your ADDICTION and stop smoking. I'm watching a friend of mine smoke himself to death right now.  He SAYS he's quitting but I see no difference in how many packs he's buying and smoking.  His feet are starting to hurt and he has bad circulation and his weight problem isn't helping.   He's 52 and looks almost as old as my father who's 25 years older.   Keep smoking and this is your future.     I'm 42, I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs,and I look almost ten years younger than my age.   The difference is my lack of these vices. If I did start up. I'd smoke Camel non filters like my Dad did. Hell, I'd smoke Chesterfields like my Grandad did if I could find them. I'm fuckin' old school, ya know?
My old man would tear the filters off of cigarettes when he bumed one. He claimed the filters are what caused the cancer.

There was an episode of  How It's Made or some similar show that delved into the history of tobacco. It was very interesting. From the Spaniards landing in Cuba finding the natives smoking cigar like things as big as baseball bats to current technology. They do treat the tobacco with chemicals in order to get the nicotine into your blood. The cigarette consists of several mixes of different tobaccos and chemical treatment combinations to give you the buzz and cover up the chemical taste so you do not experience it. Cigarettes taste like utter shit, until you get addicted. Then they're apparently the gravy on the potatoes.

No offense, cig smokers. I smoke cigars, and have started taking to occasional pipe. Got nothing against smoking tobacco. But having worked in a cigarette warehouse... Holy shit. Cigs are damned near the floor sweepings of the industry.

I started smoking American Spirits four years ago:  Three to six cigarettes per day.  I have quit now and will never smoke again.  I am embarrassed that I ever did it.  Took me three attempts to quit.  I am so happy that I kept trying.  I am excited to get smoking out of my life.  

I only smoke cigars, about 2 a week right now.  I'm still kind of new so I don't have a go to smoke yet, but I like CAO Brazilia, Sancho Panza Double Maduro,  and Arturo Fuente Hemingways.

What do I smoke?

Ribeye, Boudin, Chicken, Turkey, etc.

And boy it sure tastes good.

Oh, forgot, you'll have to take my word for that.....

I'm watching a friend of mine smoke himself to death right now.  He SAYS he's quitting but I see no difference in how many packs he's buying and smoking.  His feet are starting to hurt and he has bad circulation and his weight problem isn't helping.   He's 52 and looks almost as old as my father who's 25 years older.   Keep smoking and this is your future.     I'm 42, I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs,and I look almost ten years younger than my age.   The difference is my lack of these vices. I smoked marlb red 100's for 30 years. Now I just inject 55 cc's of nicotine into my blood stream via IV pouches that I keep in a fanny pack.

Had to stop before I really got going...

It was making me very short of breath when training in MMA.

After getting knocked out while sparring cause I couldn't keep my hands up any longer I decided enough was enough and switched to a cigar or two a week.

I used Chantix to quit, it worked great but I stopped taking the week I stopped smoking, which I dont suggest.

With the stress of a busy schedule and school, I needed SOMETHING to tide the cravings, so I started with Skoal Bandits and have since moved on to Skoal wintergreen pouches.

I actually like Skoal better than smoking.

I would say chewing makes you more of a man than smoking. Any pussy can smoke, but it takes a real man to gut some Skoal.

Chesterfields kept me from smoking for ten years. My dad smoked em, stole one to try, just about puked. Now in the Army I learned to smoke. Salem, In the process of quitting right now. Wish me luck.

At first glance I thought that was a really bad dinner pic!
Smoked for 40+ years,Winstons and Camels until I had a heart attack. They did an xray in the ER and my lungs were pretty much coal black. Most likely have emphysema to some extant. Haven't smoked for over a year and besides the normal things like being able to breathe and taste things,I've noticed the lower leg pains and charley horses quit almost immediately.
