YEA it sez meat products ,but i have my doubts,my son loves em, i told him they were the scraps that were left on the slaughterhouse floor. there's enough grease in those things to grease a fifth wheel!

Methinks you are best off not knowing.

But basically, after all the good meat is left out, all the other stuff including fat, ligaments, etc is chucked in the grinder and there ya go.  Tasty!

Heck, put a large piece in your mouth but do not chew.  It dissolves into just the casing.

I always question food that disappears like that.  I have noted that with some potato chips, is you step on them they disappear into a little grease puddle with no solids.

I do know that if you chew one long enough, the resulting wad will be almost pure white, and fly from a straw with a most precise trajectory. Even better is the reaction when you tell your target that it was a slim jim you have been chewing for upwards of 15 minutes.
Do it all the time. Never gets old.

Slim Jims are the best.  I can buy a 48 pack and finish it in 2 hours.  I don't feel too good afterwards though...

I have noticed recent QC issues.  Like 2 slim jims in one wrapper, empty wrappers, ones that are dried out and have a funky flavor, and ones that are too plump and soggy.  Still edible though.

I just love the feeling when I get a craving for some and i dig around my car seats and find some from previous feedings.

Holy Sh!t I know the answer to something on this board! I spent a year as the manager of cost accounting/assistant plant controller.  I'll fill you in.  A slim jim is made of roughly 45% headmeat (meat scrapped off a cow's skull), 18% mechanically seperated chicken (aka chicken paste), 35% various other meats (cheek, shank, etc).  The balance is made up of spices, water, corn syrup, and liquid smoke.  These %'s are all the pre-cook weight.  The plant is located in Garner, NC which is just south of raleigh off of I-40.

You're a bastard.  You really are.

I preview your links before clicking on them, sucker.   Start to quote your post and then cancel out of it once I read the URL of the link.

Anyway,  slim jims are MUCH  better tasting if you leave them on the dashboard of your
car for a few hours on a sunny day.  Let them cook a while.  (Still in the sealed wrapper, of course.)    After that, they're about ten times better tasting.

What's in them?  Anything that's not bone and doesn't sell well when packaged by itself.  But who cares?

If you've eaten a hot dog, vienna sausage, regular sausage, or a slim jim, you've eaten horse cock, horse pussy,  cow cock, cow pussy,  assholes, elbows, testicles, scrotums, eyeballs, some organs....darned near everything.
