So now you are crazy just for discussing the need for self defense tools. |
ah, but when he is declared sane, he'll be the only one certifiably sane on campus. hopefully he'll use that to his advantage.

This model has been used with great success in the USSR/Cuba/NK,ect
Don't like communisim thats a mental disorder Head shrinkers have shown and unmatched vigor in being used as tools of the state internal security. Sadly I think this will become the norm From my other thread: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=627372 2009 Socialized (Single payer sounds better to the unwashed masses) medicine mandatory signup. It will be a HMO type plan where you will be assigned a doctor based on location. No specialists visits without a referral. Note Congress and SES government workers will have a separate system that allows treatment anywhere. Note there will be a huge brain drain most competent MD’s will retire, become expats, or change careers.. Various things will be phased in over time slow boil frog style First will probably be the mandatory yearly checkup for minors (Its for the children after all) Then they will add Mental Health Screening* This will be a great tool as it was in Cuba,USSR,Cambodia,Ect to get rid of vocal critics and generate the climate of compliance. Then there will be several fatal or disfiguring wrong patent mistakes which will set the stage for Medical use only RFID implants. Also all newborns will be required to get the chip. Homebirth/Midwives will be outlawed and aggressively prosecuted. |

He's in college but hasn't discovered the apostrophe?
I'm sorry but while the content of his email was good, the lack of proper punctuation made him look like a knuckledragger. Such lousy typing is fine for Arfcom postings, but not in an email to university officials. |
This reminded me of "One flew over the cucoo nest." If you think different then you are insane.
Boy you really added to the thread http://politechbot.com/2007/10/11/hamline-university-student/ http://articles.citypages.com/2007-05-09/news/gun-shy/ http://constitutionclub.wordpress.com/2007/05/14/the-left-continues-its-assault-on-debate-the-case-of-troy-scheffler/ But hey you get to think you are soo cool and get to match the herd Bahhh Bahh little sheep |

While worldnetdaily is the source, I've no doubts as to the truthfullness of the article.
I don't think so. That move is likely to be met with some extreme resistance. |
He definitely needs to sue. While suspended he's going to be missing out on classes, getting further behind and probably putting his GPA and passing the semester in jeopardy depending on their rules and handling of the suspension time against his record and GPA.
He shouldn't submit to any evaluation for sure though. I have a hard time believing it will just come out as a positive and the psychologist will be unbiased. It could be used against him at some time down the road. They have no grounds to ask for any evaluation and suspend him. It's nothing but prejudice against gun rights and owners. |
I don't know about midwives, but clearly the trend of independant thought and questioning authority is somehow construed as a mental defect. Perhaps they fear just the idea that someone is independant minded enough to want to take their own safety in hand as their own responsibility.
has there been an official call to arms or am I late to this thread?
Divide and conquer they are not a large enough population and they tend to be plolarized between the hippy feee love and uber traditional religious easy group to split just like fudds and EBR types We will all hang seperatly since we can't hang together |

The fact that he was simply sent for mental evaluation is the grounds that gungrabbers want to base disqualification upon in their utopian legislation.
I hope friggin so, but what rights does he really have? If it's a private college they have all sorts of extra latitude that a public school wouldnt have. But I hope you're right. He should be able to name the school after himself when he buys it from them with his lawsuit money. -K |
Indeed. What they fail to understand is that an evaluation is not a diagnosis. It is to determine if there is or is not a problem. That is why I oppose their Draconian Ideal. Now, if there is diagnosis and adjudication of mental illness then fine, ban them. These decisions should be made by a judge after due process and careful consideration of the facts. No one should be denied rights without due process. |
I think there was a local story about that. Basically, he got the attention he was looking for. He should win the fight. It's not a fight I would have started.
Well we both know that is the goal - denying rights without due process. |

Just so I understand where you're coming from, how many kids have you had at home? |
None all 4 were c-sections |
The story was from a single source. A tabloid. Excuse me for exercising reasonable skepticism. Now that I see that this is indeed an actual case... yeah, its messed up. Btw, fo and die. I'd come up with something more witty, but you're not really worth the effort. |

I like you to Have a nice day |

I have a strong feeling that this is the beginning of a trend. My boy is 26 months old and can already point out the safety, barrel, grip, sling swivels, stock, and bayonet lug on Daddy's Armalite. What happens when he is in kindergarten and mentions guns or draws a picture of one. The way things are going, he'll have to go in for an evaluation, and I'll wake up to the sound of the swat team breaking down my door. I'll lose custody of both my children and be placed in a mental institution until they can "cure me". Enough ranting, but trust me, this is only the beginning.
Right. I'd have to say that your experience is probably the top reason why folks use a Midwife/homebirth. Granola and bibles have very little to do with it. Its a quality of care decision. |
I have seen it enough and could do a c-section but my living room is not quite sterile and my access to drugs/and emergency equipment is slightky less than the hospitial.. We had execlent care for the last 3 I MADE SURE OF IT. Fact of the matter for us DIY home in not a safe option. I have several freinds that have done it and they were not hippies/ they were bible thumpers but thats the circle I run... If you get crappy care at the hospital 1/2 of that is on you. Doctors and Hospitials are liek any service there are good ones and bad ones. Find a good Doctor and learn so you can keep the hospital honest |

+1 While the kid has a point....he comes off looking like a complete moron. Hell...after reading his idiot emails I'D recommend a eval sheesh. |
Yeah, but he's not being put on double-secret probation because of his lack of grammar. It's the content of his e-mails. Or is it? Apparently, the school now claims he's on double secret probation due to anonymous allegations. LINKY |

If I had my druthers, anyone who gets their news from World Net Daily would undergo a mental evaluation.
When they pass that brady bill it will get worse. Under that bill this could cause him his 2A
I dont care what the NRA says so dont bother |
blind squirel, nut. Even DU has a news flash (hot flash?) occasionally |
I have yet to see a poster post a story from WND, who did not fall for the sensational headline and lead in paragraph (which, in true WND fashion, is never supported by the actual facts in the article). This is a classic example. Reading even the excerpts of the e-mail that WND quoted, I can't blame them for ordering a psych eval. Gun rights activism has little, if anything, to do with it. |
