Is it possible for a normal civilian to purchase less lethal grenades such as stinger grenades (shoot rubber balls out for riot control)? And if so where could I get some? Any info would be appreciated.

Ditto, but I have had it for years.  I don't know if they are still available.

I thought the ultimate anti-hippy weapon was soap and a haircut?

I guess I don't know for sure, but having used them, they detonate with nearly the same concussion as a flashbang.  I have to believe they would be considered a destructive device and unavailable for retail sale.

I'm prett sure they're considered DDs.

I prefer the water cannon with optional soap attachment.

CS grenades are perfectly legal, unless you live somewhere like California, in which case, check your local laws.

Stinger grenades and flashbangs are DD's.

Any info on the legality of this would be appreciated. I dont want to buy one then find out I messed up

They wouldn't let you buy them if they were destructive devices.  Order it and see if it gets delivered.  If you get an email asking for the order on your police department's stationary then you know that you're not able to own it without a Form 4 transfer.

I'm pretty certain that if it contains more than 2 grains of flash powder then it becomes a destructive device.

You just made me dislike the Air Force a bit less  (Army guy - and for the record I like the AF, really - I do)

Well cant really buy real grenades, I figure stingers would be as close to as possible.

So stingers are DD's, but CS grenades arent?

There was a dealer here in the equipment exchange that used to sell a few different types of cs grenades. He had a website that listed cs rubber ball grenades & small and large cs can grenades but I cant remember his name. You didn't have to be police or military to buy from him.

Can anyone come up with the dealer site?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but all I saw on that website were Iron sights and Illumination tools. Did I miss something?

CS and white smoke grenades

They also have flashbangs and stingerballs.

Why?  They have a very limited application and cost both arms and a leg.

It's like the guy here a couple of weeks ago that wanted to buy LTL shotgun beanbag rounds. (At $6 apiece)

BTW:  It is my understanding that stingerballs are not classed as DD's, but every time we use one the ATF is all over us for documentation.
