I don't typically like to eat and drink at the same time.  I'll eat first, wait awhile, then drink once my food has settled.

1) eating brings my buzz down

and

2) I hate that bloated feeling when you eat a big meal and mix it with beer

Grilled or smoked meat.
Just the meat.

Monkey-Meat will do fine.

Just to reinforce, ice cream and beer do not mix well.  Vanilla ice cream and brandy work, though.

I usually look at it the other way 'round, but my favorite beer/food combination is either beer and tacos or beer and chili.  It's a toss up between the two, really, so don't flame me for not having just one favorite.

Oysters.  Raw or smoked.

Cheese curds are a close second.

In the following order, my favorite things to eat along with a nice, cold beer are:

Mexican Food

Pizza

Steak

Grilled Brats

Hot ring bologna and cheese on triscuits

- - however --

There are damned few (non-breakfast) things I would rule out eating along with a nice, cold beer.
