we are suppose to be getting a big 5 here in boise idaho. anybody have any good reports about them? how about bad ones? [shock]

They are a great place to buy shoes and other sporting things, but that is about it.  They carry some shooting/hunting stuff but the prices are average at best.

However, they always carry rifles...like old Garands, Mausers, and Mosin-Nagaunts, and others.  This is their one strong point.  I got a Mosin from them for about $70 and it was excellent!!!!!  Plus they alway bring all they have from the back room so I can pick out the best.  This is the only reason I like Big 5.

They are a pro-gun sporting goods store.  They carry a wide variety of ammo, but not so much bulk.  They have great sales on WWII rifles.  I picked up some Mosin Nagants 31/91(?) for $60 each, and they were in excellent condition.

They are a nice little sporting store and like the others said a good place to pick up WW2 rifles I got me A BRNO VZ-24 (mauser) for about $65 it's not a bad rifle for the$$$ any way sure you will find some good stuff in there from time to time even if your not in to the old stuff.

Dang! It sounds like it's a good thing there aren't any of them around here. I love those older rifles. [:D]

There prices on everything are generally pretty high, but they have good sales.

It is nice to be able to look at vintage firearms before you buy, unlike mail order.
