I don't know why people diss the SIG so much. I think it's cool looking with the railed forend and maybe a MagPul CTR stock...
Did it choke at all or run like a sewing machine? |
Sure did, only took about 12 shots or so. |
It ran perfect all day long UNTIL I ran some AdCom through it after a few hounds rds of Wolf and BAM, stuck case. I used a cleaning rod to get the case out and it ran fine for the rest of the day. |
I am wondering if that was meant as a slam, and GrumpyM4 did not bother to look at the pictures and see that your Sig 556 in fact DOES have iron sights. If an honest question, I apologize. If a slam, well, there is no middle finger smiley. |

White Lithium Grease.....DUH! |
Mostly Nitrogen, some oxygen, argon, neon, carbon dioxide, a bunch of others. |
But, but, but....... The 556 is a piece of crap! It will fall apart and it has sub standard parts everythere!
Nice rifle! thanks for the positive report. The 556 has been bashed to death here and it's nice to see yet another happy owner of a 556. When I can, i'll be picking up one to replace the ones I had to sell |
Ahhh.. Lil' Chris has grown up.
Well if the 556 is an M3, then putting a can on it would be like putting a Superturbonawzcharger on the M3. Need me to help you set up the paperwork? Oh yeah ASC aka Fud-R-Us for the suck. |
Get some mags before you perish!!! ETA: Cool gun. Glad it worked out for you. |
I remember us getting throw out of ASC ..and yes a can is next, probably early next year since we just bought a house. |
I have almost 30 mags, that's 900rds on tap, I figured that's a pretty good supply |
Ghetto, how do you like your GripPod? I haven't had a chance to put mine to use yet.
I like it alot, espcially since I paid $30 for it I bought a knock off to try to see if I liked it before I bought the real thing and I really like it! |
once I get my current AR project finished, a 556 or XCR is next..
Where'd you get the FakePod?
Me+556 ETA; Just found these $10 doesn't sound to bad www.amazon.com/Tippmann-Milsim-Paintball-Weaver-Bipod/dp/B000UMLATS/ref=sr_1_5/104-5384412-2704765?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1188432861&sr=8-5 www.amazon.com/Hand-Grip-Handle-fits-system/dp/B000GTAO6K/ref=sr_1_1/104-5384412-2704765?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1188432861&sr=8-1 |
I paid $30 for it off of GunBroker. |
I had a blast at the range. I forgot to bring a screwdriver to attach the rear sight on my 16" A3. Oh well, I mainly shot my SP1, Placing my shots better than Ghetto did, I got a better group open sight.
I can't hold that against Ghetto, since he was firing at least 2-4 shots per every one shot of mine. So I took a bit extra time aiming, got a better group. Towards the end of the day, I was still setting my shots, while Ghetto getting really trigger happy. |
No, I tried several times to get a picture of it, but his camera is slow to respond. I couldn't snag a pic of it in the air. The pic of him from behind, there is a brass blur right by his front sight. |
Looks like a fun range day. You were at American Shooting Center right? Their are tons of idiots their.
They're sure are. |
Which is why the 556 doesn't make sense to me. I am going with the XCR when I have the funds together for a piston rifle. |
I loves me some irony. |
The XCR is a great gun, but man is it heavy, and who's to say what's going to happen when/if they go out of business? I'm pretty sure that Sig Sauer will be around for a while |
This is why I want one.......ugh, I still have to have money for the Masada though. What to do, what to do? |
Screw money! Get both! |
I suppose, by the time the Masada makes its debut I should have enough. |
It really is, after putting 100rds or so through it, I picked up the AR pulled the trigger back like I was used to do with the 556 and *BANG* whoops, (of course the rifle was pointed down range and on target) the AR doesn't have a 2 stage like the 556 So now I gotta order one for it |
who actually has one? |
Knob Creek has one and Shooter supply had about 5 of them Wednesday. |
Very nice - you got it at a good price, too.
My only suggestion: investigate the macro function on your camera, it will make all those close-up pictures nice and clear. |
It's an older camera, so sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn't |
Congrats on the nice running rifle. I just took my 556 out to the range and the damn thing is really impressive. The recoil impulse is nil and the thing is back on target for a follow up shot quicker than anything I've shot. I went through 25 mags of wolf without a hitch. Enjoy it.
Nice looking rifle. I hear nothing but good things from people who own them. Obviously a smart purchase.
It sounds like the two stage trigger has you spoiled. |
Yeah this is getting bumped.
Hey Chris me and you need to get together so I can shoot that thing some time. I've been thinking about getting one. Ross |
