Scrolling on CNBC is blurb that a UN special investigator wants us to stop bombing as it places civilians in danger.  I think our military is doing everything it can to avoid civilians, but kaka occurs.  This right here should be the impetus to get us out of the UN.  Tell them to take their little HQ to Vienna or anywhere else but here.

as was mentioned, NATO.  and i'm pretty sure we'd still have alliances with Britain, Israel, Australia, possibly Germany, and maybe (unfortunately) France.  we don't need a world government organization to keep us afloat.  rather it needs us.  you were correct on that point.  if it should falter, i would not shed a tear (throw a going away party, maybe, you're all invited).

Cypher, staying in the UN will mean the end of liberty. You need to read more about what they want to do. We do make the UN powerful, but the UN does not make us powerful.

If we want to help stop terrorism by bombing, we need to bomb the UN building first.

Looking at the UN and most of its proposals for the past several years, I've noticed a tendency on their part,attempts to limit the powers of nations, while at the same time expanding their own.  I believe the UN understands it would be F*ed if it didn't have the United States behind it.  We've been "big brother" ever since WWII and that's something that just galls the UN because that's the position they want.  Their intent is to remove all forms of protection from other countries so they would have no one to oppose them if they decided to take control.  Does that about sum things up??  I mean correct me if I'm wrong, my history emphasis at college was on medieval and Russian history, so I didn't involve myself too much with studying the UN.  

It seems to me that they have just gotten tired of being second best and would like the chance to become king of the mountain.  So, I whole heartedly agree with everyone's sentiments here!!  They can take their hypocritical notions and shove them up their tight asses!!  [;D]

And the funny thing is, the good 'old US of A helpe create the damn thing!!!

It was suppose to be a place where 'differences' could be talked out, instead of going to war.....
