IMHO, the last thing we need to do is break away from the UN. Remeber Red Dawn? Hell, I know it was a movie but it had a fairly realistic plot. Without us the UN isn't very powerful and vice versa. What makes us the most powerful military in the world is mainly the number of allies we have. Take away the allies and you've got yourself a takeover waiting to happen. I love my country, would die for her, and know how powerful we are but I don't think we could take on the rest of the world.

one question: do you honestly, sincerely think that our power emanates from our membership in that socialist, power-hungry organization?
okay, more than one question: and do you honestly, sincerely think that we would no longer have any allies if we ever-so-kindly removed them from our soil, and ourselves from their ranks?
as was mentioned, NATO. and i'm pretty sure we'd still have alliances with Britain, Israel, Australia, possibly Germany, and maybe (unfortunately) France. we don't need a world government organization to keep us afloat. rather it needs us. you were correct on that point. if it should falter, i would not shed a tear (throw a going away party, maybe, you're all invited).
this is in no way a flame or an attack or drawing a line in the sand, please keep that in mind. i would like someone to tell me what the U.N. does that isn't the responsibility of a sovereign nation. what decisions has it made that didn't infringe on that sovereignty? what actions has it taken that haven't been focused on bending all countries towards its will of the New World Order?
the U.N. is a pimple on the arse of the U.S. and the world. i just wish we had the honor of popping it.
