Somebody gave us a 12v air horn.  What size of fuse should be in the line to the compressor?

We are using 12g or 14g stranded wire and a switch-activated relay, and expect the circuit should be battery-fuse-relay-compressor-ground.

The switch circuit to the relay will also have an upstream fuse of, say, 10 amps on 16-18g stranded wire.

10 amps should work fine with most compressors for horns.  Does yours fill a reservoir tank or strictly supply air while the horn is activated??

Strictly for the horn. it's a Stebel (Italian), and from their web site, I'd say it's been superceded.
