Anyone own or have an (informed) opinion about DPMS stainless lowers? I'm thinkning of getting one as a foundation for a project AR (match trigger, 24in bull upper, etc). Other than the added weight, any drawbacks?

DOH! Must use spell check...

I have one that I purchased in 1997. The fit between the lower receiver, and the dpms upper that I bought at the same time, is very tight. It is so tight, that I need a phucken hammer to install and remove the rear take-down pin. The buffer tube is not quite in proper alignment with the upper receiver, and sometimes the bolt carrier sticks in the tube. Other than that, their isn't anything to complain about. Hopefully by now, dpms has corrected these problems.
