if you have big hands check out the Para... I like it better than a regular 45.

Have you seen the Wilson Combat KZ-45, beautiful! (If the money is there)

Go with the Commander.

It's a toss-up between Springfield & Para....

Heard Pros & Cons about them both....

Do a Search and then decide...

I'm not much into the .45's but I do remember a GunTests article that ranked all the  Springfields pretty poorly.

Poor craftsmanship, essentially.

I'd be willing to mail you a copy of the article.

It actually ranked 30 or so different .45's.

If you want, e-mail me your address.

I have owned 2 Springfield Armory pistols, and they were great. I also had a Kimber ProCarry that had a few minor problems.
Now I own a Wilson CQB full size.
Every company has lemons, but I have not personally recieved one from Springfield Armory.
I wouldn't call the Kimber a lemon, but for $750, I expected not FTF's out of the box.
Springfield Armory manufactures their slides and in their framns in Brazil, but in a plant that they own and control.

My FFL is sitting on a new two-tone limited model of the P10...  someone ordered and backed out without paying... he's looking to move it at his cost... If your interested email me and I'll pass it on to him so that he can contact you.
The P10 is beautiful, I'd recommend that one or the Colt Defender... they are both dead reliable, only choice is single/double stack mag.

the fit and finish aren't anything to brag on, but my llama minimax subcompact .45 is small, inexpensive and reliable.

I have a Para P-13 that I love.  Have had it for about 6 years and have not had any problems with it.  I have seen on various boards about mag problems but never had a hiccup with mine.  Wish I had another P-13 in the dual tone finish or a P-13 Limited.
