So from what I am reading, the site can now have a 100 page thread (as opposed to the 40 page limit in the past)

Already there have been a few attempts to get one going (just for the hell of it, to test the theory)

My guess is that any topic started for the purpose of maiking it to 100 pages will end in a lock well short of the goal.

Why? Simple...there isnt a lot that merits 100 pages of commentary. +1 threads degenerate quickly into nonsense.

What threads have gone to 40 pages?

Domestic terror attacks....
International wars....
Board members in trouble...

I dont see a troll thread going 100 pages since it would require everyone being on best behaviour the entire time...not likely.

No matter how many new 19 year old hot female gun enthusiasts pop in to say hi to us, what could take 100 pages to say?

My guess....the first real 100 page thread will be the result of a major news story....a nuclear attack somewhere in the world, a prominent assasination, a terror attack here in the US, a leading politician committing suicide....something noteworthy.

Just my thoughts...I dont see any +1 threads getting to page 100.

The first 100 page thread will be BattleStar Galactica part 7.

The 7th Battlestar Galactica thread will see 100 pages.

Another forum I'm on has one at 79 pages right now.  The title is "Randomness Thread", and it's one of the best threads we've ever had.  Just lots of random stuff, people going off on tangents, personal stuff, etc.

The Survival Forum threads on the TV show Jericho has generated 57+ pages so far, in seven episodes out of a 22-episode first season.

The Israel vs Hezbollah thread would have gone well over 100 pages.  The last one was part 6.  It is currently at 212 total pages.

That sounds like utter crap.

Political threads, AWB debates, religious threads will hit 100 pgs.

Dang, so will "Avatar Test" threads. Any way to kill those out of "My Active Topics?"

Yeah, or that.
Also could be yet another Star Wars thread debating the true involvement of the midichlorians in Palpatine's master plan....I mean, if the force is a function of the midichlorians, and the dark side is capable of harnessing both sides of the force, are the midichlorians neutral, or are they inclined to support the empire? Something to think about.

This was actually one of the two examples that came immediately to mind....the other being the 9/11 threads. (free balzac22)

I said it in the other thread, and I'll say it here.
It'll be a thread that starts with "Hi, I'm new here.  I'm a girl and I like guns."

Okay, I'll put my hat in the ring.

How about a thread that test the endurance of a stock AR-15? Much like FAL files Ol Dirty or the M1A on battle rifles.
Or can an AR even come close to that kind of abuse?

There is a "Count" thread on an outdoor forum that's at 147 pages & 5,849 posts. Some pretty cool pics have shown up. The one I started here got locked before pg. 2.

Go figure.

Don't put this thread out of the running.  It'll give BattleStar Galactica a run for it's money.

ETA: Off topic, but DragracerArt needs to give some fence building advice to Washington.......

You must not visit the Women's forum too often.

Every time they get a "Ladies of ARFCOM" thread going there's like a 15 guys with flirtacious posts per every picture.

That's what's gonna do it!
