Maybe that's what his constituents asked for.

But it's a little late to now support the bill at the end of the calendar year.

no we didn't, why would us AZ voters want to do that? I suspect maybe he feels the need to carry in DC and who would blame him.

I don't trust him and he as done enough stuff that I hate that I will actively campaign against him.

Despite having a distinguished military record and being a POW in Vietnam, McCain is a gun grabber, pure and simple. He can say what he wants now, but he is not our friend. I will not vote for him if he runs for President in 2008.

McCain-Feingold was enough to convince me to never vote for him for anything.

His stance on guns is I guess what most would call "moderate".  Which means he's for some restrictions but he's not as bad as Feinstein, et al.  He's for mandatory sales of gun locks and rsstrictions on gun shows, but he did vote against renewing the AWB.

Still bad enough that it would turn off the majority here.

Pretty much.

I respect who he was and what he did.

I despise what he has become.

Now if he really wants to turn over a new leaf and regain our support all he has to do is introduce a bill to stike the "sporter clause" from the 1968 GCA. If he aggressively persues that I will support him.

Didn't McCain say that American union workers were incapable of picking lettus for $100 dollars an hr because it was too hard of work?

I respect McCain's military service, but I don't think he's been a stellar politician.

I doubt I could bring myself to vote for him.

If it were him in office instead of GW, we'd still be enjoying the FUCKING Assault weapons ban.  NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.

I won't vote for that commie bastard.

Nope.  I will not vote for any Republican candidate for President.

The only way I'll change my feelings about him is if he leads a charge against the machine gun ban portion of the 86 FOPA. Then, he'll have won my vote.

Although, if it comes down to Hillary or JM... I'm not stupid enough to not show up and vote for him.

Didn't California vote that all of their electoral votes go to whoever won the popular vote? That would mean that a republican now has a shot at all those votes.
