With the 7.62 x 39 ammo so cheap I was looking to see where to find an AR for this caliber.  I have yet to find any and I know they use to make them.  Are these guns not as accurate or should I stick with .223????

Not a big fan of the AK's.  I like the AR set-up better.  I have tried the AK, SKS and a Mini-30 and none of them shot real well.  I guess I thought it would be cool to have an AR in a different caliber.

Ar's do best with 5.56,just as ak's perform best in 76239 and 54539.Besides,have you located any hi-caps for ar762?You could get much more for the dollar with the AK setup.

Well these uppers tend to be very good and mags shouldnt be all to hard to find (I'm Canadian and i dont even look on the web for them and i get bombarded with sales of them).
Also since you are use to your AR it makes sence you will preform better with a AR in 7.62 then a AK. These uppers are just as accurate as any 223, you can easilly get sub MOA. Not to mention the gun is easier to silence [:)]

I have an AR15 in 7.62x39. It is a fine firearm and works great. I have had magazine problems, but that is because the mags have the nose of the 7.62x39 bullet "nose down". You have to work on the correct angle of the casing because it is bigger then a 5.56 Therefore, you need to buy mags that will work correctly or have yours modified.
I love it and would highly recomend it. I do not recomend using russian amo. THe steel casing may prove damaging to extractor.

My preacher has one.  Says it is accurate.  He is a good shot so should know.  He is happy with it and still has it.

Just buy an upper and the USA AR-AK Frankenmags. This thing will outshoot any 7.62X39 AK using Wolf ammo.

This is the way to go.....if you don`t have too many problems, you`ll love having both calibers to play with.....a few people I know or heard of with 30 cal ar`s, love them...go for it..........[:)]..P.S. I like my mini 30..but don`t care about a 30cal upper....now, IF I could find a original colt ar in 7-62.....different story........[heavy]

I did find USA mags for the 7.62, but I have not had much luck with this brand.  I found a pre-ban Colt in 7.62 for $1295, but only 1 mag.  May can the idea.

Black-guns, I just happen to have an original Colt's in 7.62X39 Pre-ban.  The only negative I've heard about this caliber is the difficulty in finding mags.  Since this AR has 3 Colt's 20-rounders and 5 after-market 30-rounders that's not much of a problem.
The 7.62 won't shoot as flat as a .223 but then the .308 isn't as flat as the .243 so who cares.
