I was watching fox news, and they were serving a warrant and were shot. The guy is barricaded in his house with weapons. I also heard that it was a DEA agent, so I don't think they have it right. Anybody in SoCal know the details?

Damn I was sure this would be the event to spark it guess I should put away my AR now.

Condolences to the family of the officer.
Nice to know that the people laugh openly when LEOs are killed in the line of duty. In spite of Ruby Ridge and Waco im damn sure there are hell of a lot more good guys in the line of duty than bad ones. |

At Ruby Ridge, Weaver created an AOW for undercover agents at their request without paying the $5 tax. At Waco, they were suspected of one or more $200 tax violations. In both cases, the agents involved were just enforcing the law. |

Reserving comment until the facts are in. I just hope it doesn't take 5 years and a congressional investigation because any non-LEO witnesses are dead.

From Fox News' website:
"ATF agents were trying to serve a search warrant and it went bad," said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy David Cervantes. He said the victims included a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent and a sheriff's deputy. The condition of the victims was unknown. The heavily armed gunman has been shooting randomly out of his house, said Sgt. Ken Davidson. The Stevenson Ranch neighborhood, 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles near Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park, was evacuated while deputies and agents were brought in by helicopter. "We believe he is armed with numerous weapons," Davidson said. The shooting started about 8:30 a.m. Davidson said deputies were negotiating with the gunman. ----- Semper Fi! Ken Little |

They said the sheriffs deputy got shot in the face, I think this guy means business.

i love the media, they're so great...

You are a prick sir...do you think it's ok to kill anyone doing that line of work regardless of the circumstances? Why don't you drop dead dickhead |

From Fox News via freerepublic:
A manhunt is currently underway in an upscale neighborhood about thirty miles north of Los Angeles. An agent of the BATF was serving a warrant on a man suspected of having an illegal "assault weapon" in his possession. The BATF was apparently notified by an anonymous informant. In serving the warrant an LA County Sheriff's Deputy was also shot. The neighborhood has been evacuated and there are continuous aerial shots of SWAT type individuals skulking through backyards surrounding the suspect home. There are indications that gunfire has erupted from one or more windows in the upscale home. But that is NOT confirmed. An official on the line with a FOX anchor speculated that "the shooter was a gun owner disenfranchised byt he gun control laws sweeping the state of California and had refused to surrender his guns--and that MANY people feel strongly on this issue so that officers serving such warrants need to be sensitive to this to avoid bloodshed." There but for the grace of God go I??????? |

jadams951- eat dump and recognize the enemy's minions...
again, while they mostly be great guys, they are working for the ENEMY, jackass. and if you don't recognize the ATF as the enemy of all lawful gun owners in this once great nation, then you probably are an ATF agent. |
|
Now they're saying that the individual was impersonating a police officer, along with possession of an assault rifle. Of course, CNN Headline News just said that he used an "automatic weapon."
Tell a lie often enough... (I will, of course, retract that observation should it prove that it WAS a full-auto) Semper Fi! Ken Little |

Why don't you drop dead dickhead View Quote I hate to break it to you, but there are many of us out there with the simple philospohy: "I will not surrender my arms so long as I have the means to resist" Had this been me, the results may have been similar. Or any of hundreds of thousands, if not millions, around the country. Come to disarm me and be ready for a fight. Period. End of story. I don't care WHO you are, or what badge you hide behind. The minute you attempt that, you forfit any respect I have for your life. If more people did this, how long would it be before local LEO's told the ATF to fuck off when they wanted backup? Harsh and uncaring I may be, but thats who I am. Oh, and if someone in my family died attempting to remove the use of arms from a free man, I would spit on his grave. Odds are I would have disowned anyone with so little integrity as to attempt that long before it happened. |

and three cheers to our 'sniper' for standing up for his rights!

Newest from the CNN site (within the last 20 seconds:)
Agents from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, along with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies, were attempting to arrest the man around 8:45 a.m. when he opened fire on them with an automatic weapon, said sheriff's department spokesman David Cervantes. One deputy was hit "in the face area" Cervantes said, but he said reports of an ATF agent also being shot are unconfirmed. ATF officials said they had no information about any of their agents being wounded. Sheriff's deputies have deployed their special weapons unit and negotiators are talking to the man by phone. "We are in communication with him trying to negotiate a peaceful surrender," Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Sgt. Ken Davidson said Friday. Cervantes said ATF agents were looking for the man on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer and firearms violations. It is not known if there are other people inside the home of the gunman, said Davidson, but deputies "believe he is armed with numerous weapons." Officials also confirmed that the gunman fired at a fire department helicopter hovering over the scene. Deputies have evacuated several homes near the house where the gunman is holed up. Santa Clarita is 30 miles north of Los Angeles. ----- Semper Fi! Ken Little Edited to correct attribution |

Garand_shooter, welcome to the halls of Dick-Head-Dom.

I was watching as this was said also, noticing how they kept pump round after round of tear gas into the home. How droll. |

When its all said and done they will probably confiscate a Ruger 10/22 and a couple bricks of ammo out of his "private arsenal".
Smalls Semper Fi Bless anyone who dies in the line of duty, unless his duty is against the constitution. |

The LA sherrifs are no great guys either. Remember the guy in Ventura they killed in his home after a no knock warrant because they wanted to confiscate his home and land.
BATF are not LEOs. I am sorry for their families but they are conducting unconstitutional activities. |

Does anyone in America remember "Taxation without Representation"? I wonder sometime...

I guess he decided to give them the bullets first. Perhaps the shooter is a man of his word, he may be a hero and not a psychotic maniac. Maybe he is a MAN that believes that the constitution says that the right to bare arms shall not be infringed. Enough is enough. Too bad we are a bunch of pussys and assholes that fight amongst ourselves and not for the freedom of our children. If something is not done that is drastic within OUR lifetimes, our future generations WILL be slaves of the US government. I pray that I have the courage to do what is right. Give them the bullets first.

It is horrible seeing this happen. This guy could be anyone of us and is most likely just like us. A series of events gets out of control and you have no way out of the situation. Now it appears they have set his home on fire and will probably not let him out of this alive. There is a good chance this guy is an upstanding man and has never harmed anybody until now and this was the fault of the govt for apparently denying this mans right to the 2nd amendment.
|
|
These FOX NEWS folks make me sick with their idiotic speculation. They call the guy a sniper and then don't even realize the difference between white and black smoke.
It would be MUCH better if we could all hear what's going on on the police radio network. |
|
I remember a similar incident happened about a year ago ending in a fire.
I would bet that the guy already has a "self inflicted gunshot wound to the head". Notice how the house caught on fire right after the announcement that the deputy was killed? They must have had some waco-special-cover-up-the-evidence incendiary grenades on hand. |
|
well sence you are all pussies as you so eliquently put it. You will not fight then try somthing else. There is more than one way to fight. To put it truthfully how many polotitions do you know that are in it for the people??? Not very many if any. They are in it for the glory and the thrill. And they will follow the votes. If it is made clear that they wont get the votes because of gun control laws they won't touch it cause it jepordises there career. So you know what to do. Intead of sticking your thumbs in you ass's do somthing about it.
As for the BATF and the sherifs deputy I am sorry for there families. I don't care if you beilve that he was the devil himself he has a job that he was told to do. I am sure today he didnt go to work saying I am going to go bust some one just for the hell of it. It is my personal opion when we get rid of the pricks who are screwed up in the head. This world would be a better place. As long as you sit here and act like frigen morons nothing will change. Those of you who though this was some glorious battle are wrong. While I do not belive in this form of gun control it is established by the law of the land. What some seem not to be able to realize is that behind this mask of evil they make up there are real people. If either of those men were married or had kids guess what. Those children will grow up without their fathers. That is somthing I wouldn't wish on anyone. So unless you decide to grow up you are no help to the fight against the gun laws. You hurt them because people who are anti read this stuff and guess what you just steriotyped us as a bunch of uncaring pychos. Thanks you for that. You know there was a famous quote by JFK "Ask not what this country can do for you but what you can do for your country." Well that BATF agent was doing that. And you are glorfing yourselves in the fact that some one has killed him for doing that. I have respect for some on this forum but others I have none for. He was doing what he belived to be right. For that I commend him. If only we were as dedicated as he was. [sniper] |
