I have to say, I made some enemies talking shit about the US when I first came to this board, and I guess its because I dint know you people and I had listened to too many people pumping anti US bullshit. But now I can see there are a lot, I mean a hell of a lot of good people on this board, and your all very helpful and most of the time very intellectual. Also I see really no difference between the US and Canada other then the fact Canada is still run by the Queen of England [:)]
But truly, I love the US, I love your people, I really like your choice in presidents, I love the NRA for helping the Canadian pro-gun lobby gain power and mostly, I love your Jack Daniels. God Bless America. |

If you start singing the US National anthem..I'm locking your account![}:D]

Canada the 51st state my ass!Ask him what he can legally own up there!Hell, their gun laws are worse than we EVER hope to see!
How does buying guns like these sound to you people?
Thats what we can buy in Canada. Also we can put pre-ban stuff on post-ban receivers, since we never had the ban. Having Canada part of the US would hotwire all your gun laws and it would be a mess. |
Scarecrow, how does one like a FAMAE SAF submachinegun with a 5 round magazine and no full auto or 3rnd burst selector.
[insert evil laugh] [:D] just kidding |
Are you sure the"Mounties"wont be looking for you after that?Seriously!
Nope all this stuff is legal here, but they are right about those 5rd's, except for the skorpion, its 10rds cause it is considered a handgun.
Look real close at those pics. They are Air Soft guns. hehehehehe
Being an American and trying to sound humble is like being the pope and trying to sound unchristian. You just can't do it. It's an awesome country and just gets better every day. Don't believe what all those ultra right wingers or left wingers tell you. It's a great place. Until of course on of those left wing bastards try to take one of my guns away and then it won't be such a good place for him... |
Retrodog, those are NOT air soft weapons. Canadian laws seem to be as ridicolous as some U.S laws. You can own a semi auto weapon with a 5 round magazine. There are lists of banned weapons, which i guess they have to update all the time.
What good is a semi-auto limited to a 5 rd mag?Is it not evident where these laws are headed?Canada, once a bountiful frontier. Now its a stepping stone for the NWO!

Me too!!! I emigrated here in '87. Married into your wonderful country. Couple more years then "Raise Your Right Hand" Hate not being able to vote, and can hardly wait to be a citizen. You know how I'll vote when my time comes though.
You guys, even tho' you know what a great country you have, cant possibly appreciate it unless you have lived in a socialist regime like Canada. Only thing they got is health care.Of course you pay for it with a rude tax system. GOD BLESS AMERICA! BP |

CANADIANS! Fix Canada! You Know Canada needs to be fixed, so just DO it, Dammit!
What's stopping you? |
Personnally I think they're Airsoft. But even if they aren't I seriously doubt Scarecrow owns any of them.
Scarecrow-you sure took a long time to come around. I guess better late then never.....but still pretty late IMHO. Hard to change a first impression, KWIM???? sgtar15 |

As you were, SGT. Adapt, learn or die! Let the Canadians discover for themselves where the truth lies.
That way, the truth will mean something for 'em. |

Yes, God Bless Jack Daniels. Is Charlie a descendant? "In America", a great song.

Nope I dont own any of those pieces in the picture above, you have no idea how hard it is to have enough money to register and own 50 different guns. Now since some people think those are airsoft, here: http://www3.mb.sympatico.ca/~jhipwell/index.htm

I had it out with scarecrow once, but if he's beginning to see the light, then great! To Canada's credit, they produced two of the best rock bands ever - Rush and Triumph. Of course, Brian Adams is from there too, but like they said on South Park, they have publicly apologized for that on several occasions...

Just wanted to make a comment about Canada. Yes it is very screwed up on a lot of issues. but so are a lot of other countries.
I never really appreciated how fortunate I am to live here until 3 weeks ago. My daughter fell and suffered a compound fracture of her right forearm. She broke both bones one of which came through the skin. I took her to our local hospital where they stabilized her arm with a better splint, gave her something for the pain,x-rayed her arm then referred her to a pediatric orthopedic specialist in a children's hospital about 11/2 hours away. When we got there an orthopedic specialist was waiting for us. He examined her arm, explained to us that they would have to operate and gave us the 3 options that we had depending on the severity of the break. They operated on her and were able to set the bones without any screws or plates. We all spent the night in the hospital in her room. Cots were provided for my wife and I. We have been down twice since then for follow-up x-rays and to change the cast. The only thing this has cost me is the gas to drive to the hospital..period. that is all it will ever cost. Sure we pay a lot of taxes here and our gun laws are ridiculous. But none of that matters when one of my children is hurt and needs medical attention. I know they will get the best available and I won't have to re-mortgage my home to pay for it. Just my .02¢ worth. |

Scarecrow, those are some nice pieces. what does the term "restricted firearms" mean exactly in Canada if you dont have to worry about laws like our 94 assault weapons ban?
Restricted means you need a "restricted" firearms license, to get the license you just have to do a course and pass a test (and pay lost of money) and you can buy restricted firearms, there not banned whatsoever. It also means the gun cannot be used for ANY hunting.
Prohibited firearms are what is close to your assault weapons ban, they are guns that cannot be imported and they bring with them a special license that you can only get if you "grandfathered" the gun, which means if you did not own the gun before the ban, ITS IMPOSSIBLE to buy one, example: I bought a HK91 before the ban, when it got banned I got a special license for it, now my friend wants to buy it off of me, but he doesnt own any banned guns, well, he cant buy it off of me. And once I do find someone who has a special license like me and I sell it to them, unless i own another banned gun, I lose my special license and can never buy a gun of that type ever again. Its very complex and stupid so I wont even go any deeper then that. But restricted guns can have bayonets, short barrels and whatever other evil shit you want on there. On a positive note, 40mm grenade launchers are considered single shot shotguns here (but no cool exploading shells). |

But that's about it. Americans don't have to give reasons to buy guns. We don't need a collectors "license", and specify what era of guns we want to collect. Many more examples, too. |

I haven´t had any problems with the "having a reason to own a firearm" part here. Our government trusts us to buy sound suppressors and LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINES right off the shelf for prices much less than in the U.S, our MG42s do not cost TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
That was supposed to be the cynical part. We are all gun owners even though we live in different nations under different regulations. It has been the American way to own guns without a specific reason to justify the purchase, but here it has not been so. Our firearms laws wen´t thru a 2 stage refinement in the past years(2nd phase became official in June) and most changes came into weapon storage. I don´t see any CCW type permit coming into our laws soon. |

I feel that having the freedom to purchase a handgun without a reason (owning a gun and protecting one's self is a god-given right/inalienable right; however you want to say it. Now form of gov't can intervene.) far outweighs the problem we have of expensive FAs. Also, we are allowed to buy STANDARD capacity magazines right off the shelf, too. P.S.--and who wants a damn MG-42 anyway?? :-) |

About the mags, some seem to be very steep in prices. |

I was stopped trying to crosds the borsed with two of my friends I did not know that my friend had a very small amount of pot in his car at the time. However when they searched our car they found it. We where detained for about an our before they let us go with no penalty. The customs agent said that if we where brigning it into the U.S. we would have been doing "hard time." Only a few miles down the road in Canada we saw a sign that said "welcome to Canada this is a zero tolerence country." We laughed so hard we almost ran off the road. This incident is just another reason why I have never messed with the stuff though.
They meant ZERO tolerance for firearms, when it comes to pot, unless you have 900 pounds of it your free to go. Can't say the same for other drugs though.
