This is one topic that will always be contreversial. My postban weapon never had any problems with it, but others had problems. I only fired 100 rounds from the postban so I could not really assess it. One cosmetic problem that will occur would be on the built in 'brass' deflector. It could get pitted or chipped after a lot of firing from the steel cases. I stopped using Wolf because I just don't like the laquer coating. I don't want any laquer gumming up my chamber. I stick with brass cased ammo because that was what we fired in the military. If the US military issued laquered steel cased ammo for the M16, then I wouldn't hesitate to use it in mine. It's cheap for a reason, and I don't think it is just the case material, maybee it is not held to the same quality control standards as other mass produced ammo. I don't know, but I will not use it anymore in my AR's.
