why not just take the buttplate off, shave it until it fits properly, then re-attach the plate?

Yeah, no kidding. Seriously though, now that we've figured out which buttstock I'm talking about has any one heard of an aftermarket for the UMP? I've googled but came up nil. |

Thanks for the edit. As far as I know, there is none. And actually, if TAPCO was the only one to make a collapsible, then they'd be what I went with. A folding collapsible would be a bonus, though personally I'd go with just a short solid stock. YMMV, YFOS, ETC.
