Without going into the reasons for the possible loss of Congress and the White House to the Democrats in the next two elections, I would like to share some of my crystal ball insight and my personal plans to prepare for just such a disaster.

1.  The Senate and House Committees on the Judiciary will open impeachment hearings.

2.  The tax laws will be changed and the Bush tax laws repealed.  Our taxes will go way up.

3.  The Kyoto Protocol will be signed.  The ramifications to American businesses will be stunning.

4.  The Missile Defense Program will be reduced to a low level of RDT&E again, as it was during the Clinton Administration.  The programmed deployment of ABMs will be terminated [indefinitely] until more "research" can be done.

5.  The troops will begin to leave Iraq immediately.  Iraq will quickly turn into a cesspool of anarchy.  Iran will invade to put a stop to the upheaval.  A Shi'ite theocracy puppet state will be installed and the new Iran, with her nuclear weapons will become the giant new powerful caliphate in the Middle East and a world power to be reckoned with.

6.  The DoD budget will be slashed.  Many formerly "safe" programs will go away...as will their jobs.

7.  The Welfare State will be re-invigorated.  What has been a VERY successful program of moving people off of welfare will be reversed.  This is in order to create more poor people wholly dependent on the state...and thus more Democrats.

8.  Health care for all will be introduced.  Possibly built on the Massachusetts' paradigm, the system will ensure that all Americans, all indigents and all illegals will be provided free medical care for life.  You and I will pay for this largess.

9.  A new and far more comprehensive and draconian Assault Weapons Ban will be introduced.  If it is black, evil looking and can fire more rounds per minute than your .50cal Hawken, it will be banned and THIS time, the Dems won't make the same mistakes they made last time.  THIS law will be built on the Massachusettes and Kalifornistan models.  NO loopholes whatsoever.  JBTs will be kicking in our doors and confiscating our guns for sure.

10.  The unions will see a resurgence, as will the inept public schools and stupid socialist programs nationwide.  Steppin Fetchits will once again be delivering ice in buckets to liberal Democrats at their offices and once again, the capital elevators will have operators...even though they have been automated for decades.  Democrats LOVE having slaves.  They take such fine care of them.

11.  The "Fairness Doctrine" will be re-introduced.  This is a sine-quo-non of Democratic resurgence.  They KNOW that unless they can muzzle conservative talk radio, they will always be at risk of having their "shortcomings" revealed.  This above all was the majore reason conservative thought and ideals was available to the public in a mass media format.  Heretofore, we only had liberal media outlets and our minds were poisoned with liberal propaganda.

Now...what to do?  Well, if the election results look like a disaster for the Republicans, I for one intend to do the following:

A.  I will restructure my portfolio to reflect investments in programs near and dear to liberals...such as "alternative" energy.

B.  I will purchase as much ammo as possible and as many EBRs as I can before the ax falls.

C.  I will carefully review our personal profligate spending and of necessity have much more withheld to allow for my vastly increased tax liability.  Think back to the Clintons' worst years.  

D.  I will prepare more for the coming armageddon brought on by the pacificist appeasers then inhabiting the halls of congress and the West Wing.


This is NOT meant to be a reflection on the status of the Bush administration.  I am NOT suggesting that this change will most certainly happen and I'm not trying to open a thread on that subject.  I am merely trying to open a discussion on how our lives will change IF the Democratic Party regains power in Washington DC...and what are YOUR intentions if the enemy successfully storms the gates of Freedom?

All in all...I will be a very unhappy person.  I believe our lives will change radically...and not necessarily for the better.

One day in the future the .gov will begin to ban and confiscate firearms.  They'll start with machineguns, and move on down into scary looking ones next.  The media will buy into their hype and states will pass anti-firearm laws as well, all of these often enforced by the .gov's legislative/executive BATFE.  They'll demonize other things too, like drugs and Arabs.  They'll turn both of these concerning issues into news that is not only concerning, it's apocalyptic.  The new fears inbred into the populace will lead to massive legislation to restrict our other freedoms, our 1st, 4th and 5th Amendment rights.  The .gov will be ninja-like in their trickery and will seem benevolent in their actions.  They're only trying to protect us from guns, drugs, terrorists, nazis and fascists.  If they're smart they'll bring up the children in their propaganda.  Say it's all "For the Children".

One day that's gonna happen, and we'll need all the assault rifles we can get our eager hands on.  We'll put a stop to it before it gets to all that.

I would point out you would be the dumb one for voting in Republicans for a third time at the plate. I want a viable third party. I am a slightly left leaning civil libertarian.

Right now I have two choices:

Vote Republican, a party who will allow me to keep my firearms but otherwise go against almost all of my other beliefs.

Vote Democrat, a party who shares many of my social beliefs but doesn't have a large interest on the national level of keeping my firearms.

The LP has a good idea, but they take it to an extreme which will never allow them to get elected. Politics isn't black and white, it's shades of grey. Until they understand that they will never succeed.

The most I can wish for is having Feingold become elected in 2008 while Congress remains almost 50/50 to keep it at deadlock. Doubtful.  There may be more taxes levied on certain items (gas, vehicles, sin taxes, etc), which will add up, but the American public is reaching the point where any significant raises in taxes will lead to problems.  The government will view the problems as not worth the effort.

No matter what happens, when we leave Iraq it will be screwed.  "Democracy" there will only last until we are gone from there.  I figure it will devolve into 3 seperate areas, which bleed each other for a bit then Iran will gobble up one of them.

I don't think they will cut much in the way of military spending, as they want to be seen as protecting the country.

It doesn't matter if the Republicans, or Democrats, or Libertarians, or Martians are in control of the government, National Health Care is coming.

Doubtful, many Democrats found that gun control is a losing cause for them so will keep quit about it.  The 2nd Amendment has been restricted about as much as it can be, any more gun control laws will cause more problems then they are worth.  Republicans are for gun control also.

Unions will not see a resurgance, unless working conditions deteriorate. Right to work, OSHA, and other things have destroyed the union powerbase, and it will never return.  What you will see eventually are more specialized unions (like trade unions).

I think worrying about what the "Democrats" will do blinds many to the true problems our country faces with our government.  Republicans and Democrats are the same, even though they try to mislead you into believing they are different.  Both parties are run by and for special interest groups.  Both political parties will restrict your rights, and will lead this country down a path to socialism.  

Our country has been reinvented and revolutionized more then half a dozen times, each time citizen rights are lost and the government gains power.   Here is a fond farewell to America the 8th restricted though it was, and a hello to America the 9th, new and improved with less freedom and more governmental power.

Sucks to know that re-election is top priority, not what is best for the Nation.

We are going to most likely have McCain or Gulliani on a GOP ticket or a Hitlery or other Lib. Either way we are screwed. The GOP IS the problem they are certainly NOT the solution.

For everyone who says a 3rd party is wasting your vote: if you vote GOP you are wasting your future. GOP and DEM end up at a police state. In his new exposé of the National Security Agency entitled Body of Secrets, author James Bamford highlights a set of proposals on Cuba by the Joint Chiefs of Staff codenamed OPERATION NORTHWOODS. This document, titled "Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba" was provided by the JCS to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara on March 13, 1962, as the key component of Northwoods. Written in response to a request from the Chief of the Cuba Project, Col. Edward Lansdale, the Top Secret memorandum describes U.S. plans to covertly engineer various pretexts that would justify a U.S. invasion of Cuba. These proposals--part of a secret anti-Castro program known as Operation Mongoose--included staging the assassinations of Cubans living in the United States, developing a fake "Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington," including "sink[ing] a boatload of Cuban refugees (real or simulated)," faking a Cuban airforce attack on a civilian jetliner, and concocting a "Remember the Maine" incident by blowing up a U.S. ship in Cuban waters and then blaming the incident on Cuban sabotage. Bamford himself writes that Operation Northwoods "may be the most corrupt plan ever created by the U.S. government."

N E W  Y O R K, May 1, 2001  In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.

Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities.
