Refresh my memory, which president recently went through impeachement proceedings for lying under oath to a Grand Jury?

Over a blowjob. To quote the bumper sticker "When Clinton lied, noone died."

The Supreme Court didn't think so.

They were/are wrong.

So, since they didn't think so , you're fine with that, huh?

I don't necessarily agree with the law but I like seeing money out of politics. Personally I'd rather see candidates be federally funded with a set amount for each level of office they're running for. Let people contribute to one giant election fund, then the feds disperse it equally among House/Senate/Presidential candidates. Money doesn't necessarily equal political speech anyway.

It's blue today, about 80 degrees. It didn't separate it, you're right. They need to go a step further. Money is the key source of corruption in politics. Abramoff for example.

Gotta agree. No chance.

I certainly hope you are both right.  Things do change however and who knows how badly the poison of liberalism will spread before we can once again regain power?

And whose fault will it be?

The Republicans who amnestied MILLIONS of New Democrats.

Brilliant guys.

Good question....Who's fault indeed?

1.  Corrupt Republicans who forgot what got them to Congress and lost their moral compass.

2.  A Republican administration that forgot it was elected by CONSERVATIVES!  They lost their way and began spending like Democrats.

3.  A Republican administration that favored rewarding their big donors and party hacks over putting the best and brightest bureaucrat into critical gubmint jobs.

4.  Lying Democrats and their willing accomplices in the mainstream media.  Democrats to whom regaining power is more important than saving our country.

5.  Fools like us...asleep at the switch in November...and stay home in numbers large enough to allow the Democrats to win.

I would point out you would be the dumb one for voting in Republicans for a third time at the plate. I want a viable third party. I am a slightly left leaning civil libertarian.

Right now I have two choices:

Vote Republican, a party who will allow me to keep my firearms but otherwise go against almost all of my other beliefs.

Vote Democrat, a party who shares many of my social beliefs but doesn't have a large interest on the national level of keeping my firearms.

The LP has a good idea, but they take it to an extreme which will never allow them to get elected. Politics isn't black and white, it's shades of grey. Until they understand that they will never succeed.

The most I can wish for is having Feingold become elected in 2008 while Congress remains almost 50/50 to keep it at deadlock. Contrary to most beliefs, Feingold isn't your typical Democrat or insane left wing person either. He voted against renewing the AWB, against the patriot act and has a sincere interest in following the Constitution and upholding civil liberties.

Oh well, At least the Libertarians will have peace of mind, they voted their heart so handing over their EBR's will not be a big deal.  Calling the Dems and Republicans the same is just silly, though I'm pissed at some of the crap too.  The Dems are pure Evil while the Repubs are irritating.  Clear choice for me but sadly few others.

While I might quibble over particulars, I agree with your overall assessment - and I’m genuinely frightened by it.

However, lets put the blame where it belongs, which is 100% on Bush and the Republican-controlled Congress.  They had everything they could possibly want to change the direction of this country.

Plus the Democrats were, and still are, hopelessly inept.  The Republicans couldn’t have asked for a more incompetent opponent.

Yet despite all this, the Republicans totally and completely blew it.  They threw away an opportunity that we’ll probably never see again in our lifetimes.

The only thing that might save this country from total disaster in the next Presidential election is if the Democrats continue down their own road of stupidity.

And even there, if we’re really lucky, what we’ll have are the same Republicans in office.

Pretty depressing.

I know there's alot of talk here from people saying that they're done with the Republican Party
Well what do you expect
People Voted for GW expecting more
He betrayed the base that got him re-elected
You know what they say " Fool me once shame on you,  Fool me twice shame on me "

Now the argument that "Well the Repubs are the lesser of the two evils " is wearing thin

The last thing I want to see is a Democrat in the WHitehouse especially Hillary
Now Bush barely squeaked by in 2000 and '04 wasn't exactly a landslide
The GOP is gonna need every Vote it can muster to win in '08
And if they Nominate a Puke like McCain what's the difference ?

Regarding Iraq: This aint the WWII generation, the Nation is not United on Iraq
I work with two guys
One has a son in the Marine Corps, he's been to Iraq once and now he's going back
He doesn't talk about it much but I can tell he's not happy
The other guy is a Former Marine, he started growing his hair long so I asked him what's up
" I'm not cutting my hair until the boys come home "
So I told him " Listen we've had troops in Korea over 50 years now, I'm sure we're gonna be in Iraq for a long time "
People are weary over Iraq     It's gonna be THE BIG ISSUE in '08 you know  "Wrong War Wrong Time "
Unless Bush comes up with some real hard proof of WMD between now and '08
People dont wanna hear Regime Change and Freeing the Iraqi People
They could give a shit less

Now I just went thru a day of Terrorism Awareness and Homeland Security Training
Why the Phuck isnt the Border Secure Yet !
I gotta scratch my head
I expect inaction from a Gore, Clinton, Kerry, Dean type
But what about GW   How Come he's so weak on securing the Border

Please I hope a Viable Third Party Candidate Runs Please

I hate to break it to all the kool aid drinkers but if the Repubs lose in Nov. they have only themselves to blame. They hold ALL the cards in GOv't, house, senate, executive and judicial. And the dems seem to be  a spineless do nothing party. So if people revolt at the ballot box how is that the Dems fault?? They are literrally the winner by default not because of anything they actually did to achive it. And all you 'one party' Hacks amaze me. Do you even belive in democracy? maybe you should go to a Fake democracy like Mexico or Japan where they have elections but keep electing the same rotten corrupt party decade after decade. You can bitch and whine all you want about how it's the Dems fault (oh excuse them for trying to win) but it's because you are afraid to admit that maybe the repubs have gotten rotten. That's why we have elections, to kick out the rotten apples.

If you can't remember history you are failed to repeat it. The only reason Bill Clinton was ever elected president was because of Ross Perot, spitting th Rep. vote, and it was your fault that the 1994 AWB was ever passed.  I know GB1, was not the greatest but he would have been better than Billy. Don't let it happen again.

is no one in this country willing to stand up and say what needs be said - let alone

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder at Best
At Worst it's a Dangerous Political Movement
Unfortunately I believe that facets of Liberalism have infected the current Administration

Biggest Topic right Now is Illegals
Well Bush didn't refer to them as Illegals in the last SOU speech
Did he call them Undocumented Workers ?
No he referred to them as "Immigrants "
He doesn't even have the stomach to call them what they are

8.  Health care for all will be introduced.  Possibly built on the Massachusetts' paradigm, the system will ensure that all Americans, all indigents and all illegals will be provided free medical care for life.  You and I will pay for this largess.

I think your predictions are very realistic, especially 'universal healthcare'.  It's a popular 'idea' even though it works like shit in practice.  People like to think they can get something for nothing and the Left has done their best to present 'universal healthcare' as a birthright.

I can bore everyone here with endless stories my father told me about what it was like to practice medicine in Communist Hungary, but I will limit it to a few points.  The quality of medical care in any Communist country is directly proportionate to how well you bribed the cleaning staff, nurses and doctors.  It didn't have to be $$.  Bottles of quality schnapps or brandy would go a long way as well.  But $$ was prefered.  If you died on the operating table of appendicitis, then you died.  There is no such thing as a family 'suing' a doctor.  If there was in fact a particularly aggriegous act of malpractice found by the commisar, the doctor would end up in a Siberian labour camp for a couple of years.

I have experienced personally the wonderful Canadian 'universal healthcare' system.  It's absolutely fantastic as long as you never get sick!  It's so wonderful and inexpensive that if the Ontario gov't doesn't continue to drastically cut spending, healthcare costs will comprise 100% of the provincial budget by 2016.  The amount spent now is only 60%.  And this all the while you will wait 3 yrs for a cardiac bipass operation or longer for a new hip, knee or shoulder.  But the drugs are so cheap!  Sure, about half of them.  The other half are full price and the gov't doesn't cover one penny.  They don't cover physical therapy or that insulin pump that would make many a diabetics' life a little easier.  They also don't cover anything that is remotely related to teeth.  When I had my wisdom teeth taken out by an oral surgeon in a hospital under anesthesia they covered absolutely nothing--zero.  So the 'universal healthcare' system is going to bankrupt the gov't or end up as worthless, or both (most likely both).

Nowhere in American society is Socialism/Communism marching along at a brisker pace than in medicine:  Medicare, Medicaid, physician practices being squeezed out in favor of salaried physicians employed by hospitals.  That's fine: if the Gov't will pretend to pay me, I'll pretend to work.  At least I'll have more time to shoot my AR-15 Airsoft.

I think worrying about what the "Democrats" will do blinds many to the true problems our country faces with our government.  Republicans and Democrats are the same, even though they try to mislead you into believing they are different.  Both parties are run by and for special interest groups.  Both political parties will restrict your rights, and will lead this country down a path to socialism.

Our country has been reinvented and revolutionized more then half a dozen times, each time citizen rights are lost and the government gains power.   Here is a fond farewell to America the 8th restricted though it was, and a hello to America the 9th, new and improved with less freedom and more governmental power.
