I am looking for an air pistol to shoot squirels and have heard the correct power range for killing a squirel is between 12 and 20 fpe. Does anyone know of a quality air pistol in this range (without breaking the bank). I'd prefer a pump or spring-cocker to a CO2 model. Ideas?

I have a Gamo revolver, CO2 seems pretty accurate.

Think it would kill a squirl? I haven't fired a pellet gun since I was a little kid, don't really remember how powerful they are.

Using this handy ballistic calculator, I figure that to get 12 foot pounds out of a 7.9g .177 pellet or a 14.4g .22 pellet, you'd have to drive them at around 840fps or 620fps respectively. I've browsed around and I don't see any pistols with that kind of oomph. If you want an air pistol for fun, I recommend the Walther CP99. Havoc on pop cans. Wouldn't even piss off a squirrel.
