I purchased a Kimber Eclipse a couple months ago and have recently started to notice a discoloration of the black oxide finish in the Kimber lettering on the slide.  I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the cause is for this or any ideas on how I can fix it.

From what I've read it's pretty much a normal thing with the finish on the Eclipse's. I have one also and haven't had any problems with the finish yet. When I do I'll GunKote it.

It's embarrassed so it's dissolving the name off the side of it so the COLTS don't laugh at it. Ok, had to do that...........looks like  oil was left in the depression and the finsh did not stick properly.

I'd see if K can refinish it for you personally as that is an area I would not expect finish wear to begin myself. Always worth a call.
