...premiers tonight. Has been excellent so far. I expect it too follow in the tradition of the rest of the network's edgy, top notch dramas. I'm glad to see Andre Braugher back on a good show. His portrayal of Frank Pembleton on "Homicide: Life on the Street" was probably the best in the history of television.

Looks to be pretty good.

I don't see it being a long lasting series. The previews for this season seem to show too many people being killed/arrested.

The daughter seeing the death of the crackhead(izzy?) seems to throw an interesting twist.

How does it compare to the Michael Mann movie of the same name?

Not even close.

Mann's "Thief" is an absolute classic in my book.

I was starting to lose interest about half way through and the last 20 minutes kinda picked up.

I will be watching this show.

Lots of similarities.  He even has a used car dealership!!!

I was kinf of thinking I had seen the entire season just from the non-stop commercials this year.  A lot of the stuff from the commercials was actually from this (first) episode.  The jury is still out.  Character development takes time...  it might be okay.

Character development will be key for this series.  We have all seen the cops and robbers stuff.

I think it will build with each episode, I have high hopes.

Now The Shield on the other hand grabbed you from the very first episode!!  Did for me.

(sorry, off topic)

I thought it sucked, boring. The Sheild and that fireman show are way better.

Wasn't that exciting, but I'll give it another chance next week.  Haven't seen a full episode of Rescue Me yet, but from what I have seen it is phenomenal.  Can't wait till it starts again...

I was not quite as impressed as I wanted to be, judging from the previews I had seen.  I have read that there are only six episodes this season, and it may in fact end up just being a miniseries, as opposed to coming back next year with more episodes.

On the other hand, NBC's "The Office" ran only six episodes the first season, and was a hit, so the second season had 22 episodes.

"rescue me" with denis leary. it's coming back in july, i believe.

"thief" was ok, but as said above, maybe "the shield" and "rescue me" have made me more discerning. andre brauer IS excellent. one of the most under-utilised actors in america today along with keith carradine and powers booth. he was fucking amazing in "homicide."

Ros(Linda Hamilton) and her bodygaurd were killed by the Chinese mob guy. Tammy told Nick that she saw him shoot Izzy.
