I need one for a gift, ww1 or 2 it doesn't really matter, although I think the chances of getting an authentic WW 1 helmet are better because there's not as many fakes out there.

I appreciate any help on this.....

Have you tried Ebay?
That being said, I don't know if I would buy a German helmet online without actually inspecting it first. Far, far too many fakes out there.

Go to www.atthefront.com. thats where I got my orignal German M42 helmet. The shells were found some where in the old east Germany and ATF retrofitted new suspension assemblies and chinstraps. Im quite happy with my helmet.

i have seen odd surplus shit float by on cheaperthandirt a few times..... just poke around the usual places. i dont know of anywhere that maintains a stock of that suff, but it comes in from time to time
