Just wondering, Using Taxcut this year, and I'm just trying to get a gauge on how long before my return will be deposited into my account. I am E-filing, with a direct deposit into my checking account. I used them the last couple of years, but I cannot remember if average wait is 7 days, or more like 2-3 weeks.

I've used e-file for at least 6-7 years, I think I have the IRS figured out on that one.  They only deposit money at midnight on Friday each week (EFT at least).  If you have your return accepted by them by close of business on the previous Thursday it will post the following Fri.  If you get it done on say a tues, you will get the return a week from friday.

Mine took two weeks for some reason this year.  State took a week and half.  Never had taken that long before.

Depends on the company you are e-fileing with.  The company might not necesarily file the return the instant you send it to them.  Once it has been "accepted" by the IRS then it takes up to 2 weeks for the money to be deposited into your account.  That of course being that you dont have any self employment income.  Don't get me started on how long that can take.

Okay, mine was e-filed on Saturday, the 18th. Does that mean I won't see it in my account until the 24th of February. or the 3rd of March?

ETA - This money is paying for my Colt AR-15.

mine was supposed to take 7 days but it was one of the {lucky} ones that got "recycled" (pulled and manually checked for inconsistencies). It was finally deposited 7 days later

I think that this is almost correct -- close of business on Wednesday and checks cut/deposits made close of business the next Thursday, IIRC.
