1911's do sometimes require a little 'tweaking' to work right.

My FIVE Kimbers prove otherwise..........

Never had a single prob. out of my Kimber

Same here.  Even has the sacreligious aluminum frame....

My kimber (custom stainless) fails to lock back on empty mags and stovepipes frequently.  I've tried many expensive mags--wilsons and mccormicks--and many brands of ammo, cheap and expensive.

Internal or external extractor?

Internal

Easy and quick fix, buy a Wilson "bulletproof" extractor and slide stop.   Problems solved.

I gave up on 1911s after the hammer on my Para P12 wouldn't stay cocked.    A very expensive $530 mistake on my part!

Holy crap the much lauded Kimber 1911 requires you buy parts from a third party to make it worth a damn?  Aren't Kimbers more or less top of the line? I must say I haven't had to buy any after-market parts to make my glocks or sigs actually work.  Seriously though, thanks for the advice. I've been scratching my head trying to get this $650 POS to work right.  Will the Wilson parts drop right in, or will they require fitting?
