Witness Escaped As San Marco's Gun Failed To Fire

(AP) LOS ANGELES One of postal-plant shooter Jennifer San Marco's potential victims got away when her gun failed to fire, and another victim kept getting shot even after he was downed by a bullet to the head.

According to police documents cited by the Santa Barbara News Press, one witness is quoted in the search warrant as saying San Marco's gun didn't fire when she pointed it at a former co-worker and pulled the trigger. That former co-worker fled for an exit as San Marco reached into her pocket for a clip to reload the weapon.

Another witness described seeing San Marco put a gun to the head of another former co-worker and pull the trigger. Then she shot him in the head again as he lay on the ground.

All of this, after Kalifornia law prevented her from having a firearm, i am so glad we have laws to protect us from crazy people.

Yes, of course is is really a "magazine" but a lot of people still call them clips.  It is just a universal term.  Somehow the internet picked up on this and has gone apeshit about it.  Many people who are combat veterans and long time LEOs still call them "clips".  This has nothing to do with how well they shoot, how well they shoot under stress, what service or department they are/were in, how inteligent they are, or even what they had for breakfast.   It is really umambiguous to refer to a loading or loaded device as either or with qualified people under any circumstances when said part is referred to.

If you somehow think under a stress situation that you will immediately think of a paper clip when someone yells out that they are out of ammo and need another "clip" then you probably should not be fucking with guns in the first place.

My dad is a very accomplished gardner, sometimes he calls his Apricots, Peaches.  Does that make apricot an interchangable word for peach?          NO!



A magazine and a clip are TWO DIFFERENT things,  regardless to what people think, language is important, it is how we differintiate between items.  If you wanted a Taco you wouldn't order a Bell Grande Turd at Taco Bell would you?

You can call a Turd a Taco, but if you eat it you are still eating a Turd!

A lot of people have this complex.  They won't fight back, they expect someone else to do it for them.

Yeah, but if you correct people into calling it a magazine, they wont call it a clip anymore.  So it is worth the 3 seconds to fix them.

You're right. There is no point is correcting errors in terminology, no matter how wrong they are.

And hey, those cops use the term "clip" too, so it must be right, right?

The term is either wrong, or it's correct. There is no in-between, and I wonder why some people defend poor usage of a very simple term.
