I got the whole seeries, If I remembre correctly, there is 39 of 'em'. I still got 'em all.
As a teenager, started a subscription, back in about '78, and it ran well into the 80s. One every 2 mths. Should be able to find 'em at a gun show, or book fair. Even now, there is still many around, but not for the $23.00 (each) I paid, only a few bucks each now. |

I wish they'd do a Korea, Vietnam, and Conflicts Other Than War series. Those would kick ass.

There was a Time-Life Viet Nam series too. Got that also. Check it out. they still may be in print. 19 in the set, called 'The Viet Nam Experience'.

Used bookstores frequently have multiple sets of the Time/Life series cluttering up the place and selling for just a few bucks per book. I have no intention of sending those socialists at Time/Life any money but have managed to collect almost complete sets of WWII, Viet Nam, History of Flight, Cowboys and Hitler's Germany just by wandering by a local used bookstore about once a month.

i think u guys will get a kick out of this
i have never subsribed to time magazine. but for some reason i keep getting it in the mail. been going on for about a couple years. will i tell en Hell no i like the satisfaction that another anti is getting screwed and i didnt do anything except get a free magazine that i didnt order |

LOL! I had almost the exact opposite problem. Some bonehead gave me a gift subscription to Time and it took me six months of increasingly nasty letters to get them to stop sending that trash to my house. I finally saved a couple months worth and Fedexed them back with a note that the next batch would be delivered by me in person. They stopped. |

Good idea! The local libraries have used book sales every so often, maybe you can haunt those for awhile and see what you can come up with. |

I have all 39 volumes of the WW2 series. I would rate them a seven out of ten. It's sort of a watered down version of WW2. Almost like a condensed version of WW2.
You could build the series right off eBay or purchase the whole set. Shipping at book rate isn't too bad. You're correct, there are 39 volumes. I believe last year, Time/Life re-released this set with a gold cover or something. Now if you want a really good read, it's "The Viet Nam Experience". It was produced by Boston Publishing, not Time/Life. It is well researched, well written and jam full of photographs. The first couple volumes are a bit tough to get through becuase you get lost in the politics of the time but man, later on, it's almost painful to read. You'll keep muttering to yourself, "don't do that". Both sets are worth having in your library. |

You know gunmonkey them books have words in them you probably want to save your money and try out that hook on phonics thing you were talking about before you get to far ahead of your self.

One of the guys I work with is doing community service at the library. His job is to rip up old books nobody checks out. I get anything history or militry. Got some great stuff, but everybody looks at you funny when the cook gives you "Mein Kampf."

Your right, it is Boston publishing Co. Fuck! All these yrs, and I though it was T/L! Did you say 21 books. I only got 19. Is it possible for you to 'sound off' the titles to see what ones I am missing. T/L also put out a series here in Australia called 'Australians At War'. Covers from Crimean War to Viet Nam, with some good ones one the Light Horse, Gallipoli, our war against those 'thankless' Japs, Korea and Viet Nam. Each one about as thick as the T/L WWII series. Well done, back in the 80s. I had no idea T/L were such wankers. Time the mag, is not popular here, and I never get it, but I will boycott a T/L products from now on. |
