Who's your pick for best T.V. Cop?
Andy Griffith? Dirty Harry? Chief Wiggum? "?" "?" Why? For what situations? |

Heather Locklear!

HAMMER!
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing" "Lousy commies! You'll lose the arms race, now you'll lose the foot race!" |
|
that is the funniest damn show, i watched the one where he went to the amish community. That was a long time ago.

Hondo from SWAT was cool, but he once did a "roll" and it was a stunt double.
Streets of SF was good. |
|
Get a life people...Barney was "Da Man"
Just nip it in the BUD...... |
|
Otis, whenever Andy deputized him.
Jack Lord in Hawaii 5 0! View Quote Another of the Hollywood antis. Eddie |

Starsky
& Hutch Because they drove fast and slid across the hood. |
|
Fish!
But seriously, it has to be Marshall Matt Dillon. He was a stud and also got the skanky Madam at the end of the show. |
|
Raven, ya what was the name of that show? It was on A LONG time ago but was some funny shit. His name was Hammer and he always slept with his gun on its own pillow and kept a LAWS in his trunk. :) Is it ion in reruns anywhere?
Also love Dirty Harry for his quick REAL justice and snide remarks with that cool $hit gun of his (the 44automag was nice too.). And finally Chief Wigham, every bad stereotype of a police officer rolled into one for our enjoyment. Cant beat it. BrenLover |
|
"SGT Dennis Becker" ...Jim Rockford's buddy, who looks up plate numbers for him.
|
|
Sledgehammer followed by Crockett of Miami Vice (gotta love that Bren Ten)

The first partner Sipowicz on "NYPD Blue" had. I forget his name, but he was played by David Caruso.
"Hey, don't make me throw you a beatin'" Jarhead out. |

What the hell are you all thinking!
Lenny Brisco (Law and Order for those that don't habla)!!! He is the Greatest! High Performance Tactical Gear! www.Lightfighter.com |

"Pemberton" of "Homicide".
He would have got OJ & the Ramseys to confess. |
|
George Kennedy in "The Blue Knight"!!!!!!!
Twirlin' that baton around and beatin' bad guys... |
|
I am disappointed in all of you. The best all-time TV cop was Steve McGarrett of Hawaii 5-0. He killed a man every week.

Heather Lockyer's character in William Shatner's TJ Hooker. The show totally anti-gun though, they had a scene where Hooker(william Shatner) says that armour piercing bullet should not be available after the TV characters were attacked by some bad guys, and the handgun bullet was shot at them went thru&thru a heavy commercial trash dumpster. This was at the height of the BS about armour piercing bullets.
OR CHiPs with Larry Wilcox and Eric Estrada. |
|
Serious cop shows:Cannon,Columbo,Manix,Hardford Files. Comedy: Roscoe P Coletrain, Barney Fiffe Westerns: Maverick,Marshal Dillon,Wagon Train,Bat Masterson,Paladin,The Rebel, Jonny Yumma (loved that sawed off 30/30.) Cheyenne.

Jim Ellison of the "Sentinel", and his partner, Blair Sandburg.
"Sandburg inhabits a rather strange and confused world. Do you really want to go there, sir?" "No" "Didn't think so." I love that show. What other cop can afford to crash three personal trucks in 2 years, and have the department pay for them? |
|
Denis Leary as Mike McNeil (The Job)
I love that dark, angry humor. "Those (pills) and a bottle of Bushmills is the only thing keeping me from taking hostages." |

I agree with Lenny Brisco, followed by Belker (Hill Street Blues) for detectives.
Reed & Malloy for uniforms. |
|
Marshall Micah Torrance, who was smart enough to let Lucas McCain, the RIFLEMAN, do the heavy lifting.

How come nobody's mentioned David Keith in the short-lived High Incident from about four years ago? BTW, the Lieutenant Mike Torello character of Chicago's MCU on Crime Story was so good, I think, because Dennis Farina was a Chicago P.D. detective prior to starring in that show (Michael Mann had hired him as a consultant for the movie Thief a few years prior, so he went Hollywood). Also a big fan of Hammer. Think my favorite episode was when he was investigating the murders of the Elvis impersonators and had to go undercover. You can rent them at some Blockbusters.
