Clown fish kick ass!
Here are two of mine. I also have a pair of tomato clowns, even though it's not advised to have two species of clown fish in the same tank, they get along well.

It is a maroon clown. I also have another, ocellaris, in the same tank just like Duffy's and they get along just fine. The anemones, however, are the exclusive property of the maroon and he will even bite and attack my hand when I feed the anemones.
Duffy, that is one beautiful bubbletip!!!! Big, too. I just got my pink tip 2 weeks ago. He split into a second the 1st week I got him. How about that?? Two for the price of one !!!! lawdog

lawdog, alas that anemone is dead
 , the clown fish have found a new anemone to host since  I have another bubble tip anemone that was the size of my thumb when I got it 18 months ago, now it's threatening to take over half of the tank, I'll take a pic of it today, it's about both of my hands put together, I wish it'd split. I love anemones and my tank is full of them, to the extend it's not safe to keep fish (other than clown fish or fish in the same family) in it.One day I found a clown angel fish missing, later its skeleton was being spit out by one of the bigger anemones

Duffy, what do you feed with?? I have about 800 watts of light (combination of compact flourescent and metal halide) and understand that you don't "have" to feed them but they thrive better if you do. You must have something really good for them to get them that big. Cummon', give away some of your secrets!!!

hehe, I was advised to use squid if I want them to get big. They grab food when I feed the fish every night as it is, every weekend I feed them squid. That big ass anemone did get very big, while others kind of stay the same size or grow slowly, so obviously diet isn't the only factor. I have good lighting too, it's of crucial importance as you noted. Most of mine have split at least once, some twice already, but typically one of the splits doesn't make it
They tend to move around and at times get sucked into the filter, fortunately they're pretty hardy and will still live after I plucked them out.

UH, is your clown really aggressive??? Mine literally attacks me whenever my hand goes in the tank. Fiesty little bastage for being so small.

Ours is a mean little bastard too. He won't attack the hand but he will bite the bigger fish but he does have his anemone to hide in when they come looking. He was nothing compared to our Blue Chin Trigger. Had to get rid of him cause he liked eating his friends.
