Pennsylvania Suspect Says His Gun "Accidentally" Fired At Officer
Story by wgal.com

One man has been arrested in connection with an incident during which a shot was fired at a Harrisburg police officer.

Doug Briddell, 22, is in custody. Police said they were in a foot chase with Briddell that stemmed from a domestic dispute when a shot rang out. Investigators said the shot was fired at Officer Jason Paul.

Briddell denies he shot at the officer. He said he lost his gun while running and it accidentally fired, police said.

"We will run some tests on that gun to see if its mechanically possible -- a little hard to do," said Harrisburg Mayor Stephen Reed.

So far, police have only charged Briddell in connection with the domestic dispute.

If it was a Glock, it probably overheated in the sun and went off.

maybe it was a old fashioned colt revolver with the firing pin on the hammer and he loaded 6 instead of 5?

Wait! I thought guns went off by themselves ALL THE TIME and killed people!
