Personally, I think every year has gotten better (going back a number of years, anyway).

1987 was pretty good.
1988 was about the same, maybe a hair better.
1989 wasn't quite as good as the previous two.
1990 was slightly better than '89, but not as good as '87 and '88.
1991 was the best yet.
1992 was better still.
1993 was even better, for the most part.
1994 was slightly better still.
1995 was no better than '94, maybe not quite as good.
1996 was about the same as '95, maybe not quite as good.
1997 was pretty good, about as good as '94 (the peak so far).
1998 was just as good as '97, maybe a hair better (I got married).
1999 was slightly better still.
2000 was even better.
2001 was better.
2002 was better.
2003 was better.
2004 was about even with '03.
2005 was atleast even with the previous two years, maybe a hair better.

I guess that means 2005 was the best year yet.

What's yours?

I think I will have to go with 1998 being the best (year my son was born)
1992 by far the worst..   (too much stuff that I dont want to think about right now)
1994 and 1995 I had some pretty fun times as well

Last year was one of the worst years of my life (for job reasons).

It was ALSO one of the best (for family reasons).

Shrug.  Just making gallons of lemonade here.

1986.

Although I was already 25/26 years old, I actually started living.

Best year, 2004, made a killing in real estate. Did go though a breakup, but the money really keeps you warm at night.

I started with 1987 because that was the year I graduated from high school. The way I look at it, I didn't start living until then, so I kinda know what you mean.

Summer of '69

That's when I got my first real six-string that I bought at the five-and-dime
I played it untill my fingers bled with some guys from school.
We had a band and tried real hard, but Jimmy quit and Jody got married (I shoulda known we'd never get far).

When I look back now, that Summer seemed to last forever. Those were the best days of my life back in the Summer of '69.

1996 and 2002 were awesome because that's when my kids were born.  1992 was great because I got married and 1990 because I met my wife that year.  But I think the year I had the most fun was probably 1994.

1999

Graduated, and since I behaved all through school I partied my ass off. Fell in love with two  women, discovered who my true friends were and prepared for Y2K

1989 was pretty sweet.

I was a sergeant in the army.
I was young and healthy and fit.
I had a kinky hot girlfriend with big boobs.

Life was simple, and life was good.

Not sure which was the best, I only have 19 (almost 20) to pick from.  I can tell you the three worst though (in school year terms), 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-2000.  6th 7th and 8th grades respectively.  Middle School was hell.

Man, high school is LIVING if you do it right. That's really too bad. Only get that one chance at it.

Every year is better, and shorter, than the last.

'94 was pretty damn good though, fresh out of uniform, flush with cash, and turned loose on a whole campus full of women trying to find themselves....

Nah, better now I've established myself.

Maybe I should go back and get a masters....

Let me see,
1964 was pretty cool. I was born and met my new family.
1965 wasn't so good, My sister was born and I wasn't the baby anymore

1970 I am now old enough for my brothers to beat my ass. Not a good year
1971 My little sister is now old enough for me to beat her ass. Woo Hoo!
1972 All In The Family sucks. Liberal brain washing. Even an 8 year old can see that.

1974 Arabs sucked than too.
1975 Good night Saigon
1976 Two words Jimmy Fucking Carter (O.K. three words but you get the idea). Happy 200 USA

1986 a lowly civilian again. You mean the Boy Scouts National Guard will pay for my  college? Where do I sign?
1987 I think I'll buy a machinegun. They did what last year? They cost how much!?
1988 Kickin it JBT style. Good bye Ronald Reagan. They let FDR have 3 terms and he was an asshole.
1989 Graduate State OCS. Big deal!
1990 Good bye Green machine. For fucking ever! You say there's a war on? "They will activate us about the time they run out of body bags. Call me if you need me".
1991 They say whenever a door closes another one opens. I don't really get that but I meet my future wife
1992 Can't we all just get along and burn down our own neighborhood.
1993 World Trade Center. The assault begins.
1994 Fucking Democrats!
1995 Timothy McVeigh and O.J. Simpson. One will get away with murder.

1999 First child is born. we are blessed with a baby girl
2000 Overheard on nearly every American high school campus; "Wasn't this guys dad like the Vice President or something back in the 50's"
2001 World Trade Center Assault Pt. II. Could we have made it any more easy for them?
2002 Promotion to Lieutenant
2003 We bought a big new house. It's all in the interest rates.
2004 I'm 40? Really?
2005 A new baby boy

Best year?  Dunno.

Worst year.  Last year.

Broken leg, $10,000 in medical bills.

Spilled water on laptop, fried it.  $1600 down the tube.

Wrecked my truck.  $4000 in damage.  At least the damage was paid for.

Botched trip to S.C.

The good thing is I don't think it could have gotten any worse. Things can only get better from here.

I hope............

2004 best, had good job, no money worries, married life good. daughter born.

2005 worst, lost 2 jobs, arrested at work because coworkers made up some stuff about me and DA went along with it, unable to find new job because of shit from last job, broke, marriage on rocks due to previous event, no money, and they came and took my guns .

2006 it can only get better.

Junior year... 2003-2004 academic year.

I had a hot a girlfriend, I was the social chair of the fraternity, knew everyone on campus, and partied hard at least three times a week.

Fast foward to senior year, i'm single, i party maybe once every two months, only do my homework, and never spend time with friends. But at least I have two black rifles now, hohoho!

1978
I was a 19 year old Marine
Base lifeguard
moved off base with the best friend I ever had
worked out everyday
played on 3 football teams
worked nights as a bouncer in a roadhouse type bar
had women literally dripping off me
Yup, good year. I've had some good ones interspersed.
1992 I took the summer off in between first and second year of medschool and spent the whole thing with my kids. Worked out everyday, ran while the kids rode their bikes with me, took the kids to the pool in the afternoon. Great summer and the kids and I got very close.

This past year was pretty damn good also. After working my ass off for the last 16years, I quit my job, took some time off for me(last 4 months). Hunting, hiking, jogging, swimming, pumping iron most days. And I have caught up on some well deserved sleep. Been shortchanged on that for years. I feel great and am happier than I have been in years. Going to have to go back to work soon though. Arrrggghhh.

Staying physically fit has always been a big part of my self image and how I feel about life.

2004 was the best. A-Stan, 5 months. Thought it sucked balls at the time, but now that I look back on it, had a blast. Came back with $15K in cash, lived in an apartment out in town by myself. Drank beer in the barracks during the day with my buddies, didn't do shit for work. 2005 was the worst, got out of the USMC, tried going to college, didn't care for it, then was unemployed for a couple months.
