Cor-Bon has very few loads that can pass FBI or IWBA terminal ballistics testing. Most Cor-Bon loads are modeled after the (debunked) Marshall & Sanow "high velocity, light bullet" hypothesis. Generally, the bullets that perform the best across the board are those with 4th-Gen hollowpoint designs, and using the heaviest bullets in their caliber. In some cases, the mid-weight bullets also do very well. The lightest class of bullets generally fail the tests in every caliber, though there are a couple of exceptions in 9mm.
Most Cor-Bon loads use Sierra pistol bullets, which are 3rd-Gen designs at best, and don't do well against any type of barrier, including clothing. Like virtually all 3rd-Gen designs, the cavity gets clogged and they fail to expand.
All of the loads predicted to perform well by FBI and IWBA testing have in fact performed very well in the real world, and it is no surprise that the top loads are VERY well represented amoung issued police loads. If only the cops would take rifle ammo performance as seriously (police still choose predominantly poor loads for their patrol rifles).
