Last year I went nuts buying up guns and related items. My wife was a willing accomplice. I ran across deal after deal and bought most of them. I stocked up on ammo every time it went on sale and bought mags up the ying yang. I have one more gun coming and the fun stops. The new year will be back to the same old boring life I usually live, with one or two gun purchases for the year. Probably just the USGI 1911 or A1 if I find a good example. It will SUCK but I know that I can't continue on at the pace I did last year. No, I did not go into debt, but I did work my ass off the first 6 months building up my fund. My last purchase [already done but waiting on the gun] pretty much dried up the fund and I don't want to work like a dog again to build it back up.

I blame a lot of my addiction on all you addicts here. FALs, M1As, AKs, M1s, carbines, and I had to try them all out before I got to old to see well enough to use open sights. Problem was, once I got started, it was hard to stop, because so many guns came out of the closet in the past year, and at such decent prices, that I had to buy them.

Anyways, this new year I will have a larger bank account but nowhere as much fun finding deals.

I'm around that ballpark figure myself, the NIB SA NM M1A pushed me well over it. [4 digit]

I only spent a measly $5K or so in the last year, post AWB expiration pent up demand.  Plan to take it easy this year, if I can resist.  I do plan to buy a lot more mags for the AR's and hi cap handguns

My problem is I don't sell much and don't plan on starting to anytime soon. And I DID have fun, a lot of it actually. I sold some stuff I did not like at decent prices but added a lot more. Sorting and such tho has become a chore in the ammo dept, and it took the better part of a day to log, sort, "ammo can" it, stack it, and mark it. I did not enjoy that except that I found stuff I did not know I had and I can now find the shooter stuff without opening up half the cans. [nothing like finding 4K of 193 ammo from pre Klinton plus a bunch of SA.

50K+this year in centerfire ammo. If surplus dries up I'll be all set for a while.
