I am using a box with a stack of empty soda and beer cans that is 4 cans tall 4 cans wide and 4 can deep.  each can is filled with the spray sealing foam I found in the garage that we had bought like 3-4 years ago...fun fun fun indoor shooting.....

That trap is going for like 55 damn dollars I made mine with coke cans (free) and 7dollars worth of foam LOL

No you can pick one up from Sportsmansguide for like $20.  Thats where I bought mine. The problem with homemade ones is that they wear out and before you know it you have a hole in the drywall.  The only bad thing about these metal stops is that the 22 splat pretty bad and you get lots of lead dust.

The airgun guys like to use this HVAC sealing putty. I forget what it's called, mebbe someone else would know it.

It doesn't harden, and they just press a 1/2" or so layer of it into a reasonably-thick wood box of some kind.
