Say the unthinkable happens - the Zombie Party "gets out the vote" of various dead people, illegal aliens, street people, and the 18 - 24 crowd, and the Repubs run a Left-leaning gun-grabber (like that fuckwit Pataki)... and lose.

What will be the first thing you do on that bleak November Wednesday?

Me, I'm buying 20' of 6" PVC pipe, twelve or so end-caps, a new hacksaw blade, glue, a new shovel, and cosmoline.

99% chance I'll be in Montana at that time with a fallback position prepped in WY.

I'd think I'd be in good company with enough people that would draw the line.

So cosmoline and PVC pipe. Not joking either.

In the situation you described, I wouldn't be waiting for them to ask us to turn them in, and I probably wouldn't be waiting for a year either.  Your poll...didn't have my answer.

Samsong: Silly boy, yeah right, and you think "they" can't find it.  I believe you are sadly mistaken.  "They" have this fantastic new fangled gizmo call ground penetrating radar.  You have been busy watching too much network TV and not enough PBS.  Scientists have found ancient rivers in Egypt using this thing, and if the govt was really interested, your guns would just be a bump in the highway.

Am I the only one who is cautiously optimistic about our country NOT electing Hillary?

Despite EVERYTHING you read, see & hear in the old media I do not believe she will receive enough electoral votes to be POTUS.

I firmly believe the voting population in this country will be put off by the arrogant, annointed, corranation pending nature of her campain.

I would type a post on ARFCOM about what would be the best bug out rifle, and then go have some lunch. Then I would explain to myself how everything is really going to be OK, and how I should think about my family, and I would pretend everything was going to be OK. Then I would bitch and complain constantly about our degrading rights on the internet at every opportunity. Then I would complain about how no one was doing anything about our new situation. Then I would have a nap.

There won't be a "turn them all in" order anytime soon, the political climate just isn't right for it.  Expect more and more incremental controls, such as "register all them 'assault weapons' no we ain't taking them, just register them."  Then, five years later, "Turn 'em all in - we know who you are."  Of course a lot of people wouldn't register them to begin with, but it kinda takes the fun outta nifty guns if you can't take them out and shoot them.

Taxes on ammo, "fingerprinting" on ammo (that won't work and that you get to pay for), further limitations on hunting designed to reduce the numbers of people interested in guns at all so that in a generation or two they can finally "ban" everything.

Hillary probably won't get elected.  But any demo would probably be just as bad.

I agree totally.
But you might need to resupply and had better provide for that.
Like I said, I would probably make caches in at least 3 differnt locations.

Weren't you in WI?

I am not so sure I buy into the incremental bit.
The socialists are almost beside themselves, foaming at the mouth, with the Republicans in power. When they get power again, and they will thanks to the blunders of the Socialist Lite Bush Admin, I think they will push their Agenda hard. They are impatient now and see the possibility of themselves losing power permanently. They will do whatever they can to prevent that.
Look at the Klintons: Socilaized Healthcare, the '94 Ban, Waco all in just the first 2 years. Only the fact that they pissed off conservatives to the max and mobilized them to vote prevented a whole lot more. They will probably try to find a way to quash free speech. Rush, Hannity, Savage, etc really gave them a hard time. It will take a long time to get all of their socialist sctivist judges out and they are going to do as much as possible to stack the deck further, not just in the courts.

Imagine the Patriot Act under the Hildebeast and some contrived war.

We'll see. Either is plausible. I'd prefer they push it too hard.

Unfrotunately, I already lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident on Ross Lake.  It was a reat tragedy.

If Hilary won, I might buy some 80% lowers before she took office.  Just paperweights to commemorate "the good old days" - you understand.

Finally, I'd buy a large lot of PVC pipes, solid end caps, threaded ends, threaded end caps, PVC cement and cosmoline.  Then I would hire some local kids to manufacture "underground storage kits" that I'd sell online to people who are too busy or lazy to make their own.

That would lead to one very, very nervous POTUS, who probably would not be able to get life insurance, and who would end up committing suicide by shooting himself three times in the back of the head with his favorite bolt operated hunting rifle.
